No, that would be silly on epic michael-fish-like proportions.

I can promise beer, weed, beach, good company, fire and probably music.

That do ya?

Yep! Sisters are nasty to each other, that is until they reach the age of really, really wanting to borrow the other ones clothes/hairdryer/shoes etc. Then they become sickly sweet to each other. The sickly sweet period only lasts as long as both parties get what they want from the other. As soon as one denys the other use of something the hostilities start again!

This fighting and back biting usually ends when one or other sister moves out of the family home. Then the sisters become best buddies and spend hours on the phone to one another. (usually the sibling still at home rings the absent sister thus increasing the parent/s phone bill) Also when the absent sister runs out of food the remaining sister will empty the parental homes fridges and freezers and take said sister a food parcel.

Sorry Mags its just the way of sisterhood. Get used to it!

Saturday 18th December

Woke up to my mum yelling at me on the phone. Mumbled and went downstairs.

I absolutely deny having yelled! biggrin I merely asked (quietly 'cos I could tell he was feeling delicate after being woken by Rheanna's bed wetting) if he could confirm something to me. Mags said he was going back to bed so I very considerately rang off.

This question goes with the sibling question: e.g.another family question - why is a mother deemed to be yelling when merely asking, in a very quiet tone, why her offspring hasn't sent a quick message to say thank you for something? wink Maybe Skully has an answer? The answer re: sisters was brilliant.

I am still feeling very frustrated due to total failure to master Thread the Needle. All my poi want to do is Weave lately. frown This may be due to the fact that my arm was injured in an industrial accident and it is taking time to mend, so minimal swinging has taken place lately. Your Falmouth Burn sounded great. I'm hoping to get back to the Melbourne Alexandra Gardens Sunday Burn next week..

Happy Christmas All. grouphug

Although it has been brought to my attention that you have been lax in your duties as a would be host and have neglected to invte young Mr Devkev to the Falmouth festivities.....

Now you march your bottom into his thread right now and do the necessary young man!

It should be noted that the Falmouth Easter Event is NOT an invite-only affair, infact quite the opposite. By having posted a thread on the subject, I have, in effect, invited everyone here present, and therefore will consider most rude anyone who does not turn up. Despite this, I will go and post some more random links to the Falmouth thread in a variety of interesting and silly places, just for you guys. biggrin (To be honest, i was expecting to get poked by the mods for unneccesary posting, but what the hey!)

Sunday 19th December.

Day started tragically badly. Why is it that children will get up at dawn, and bounce up and down on your head until you cry and throw things ONLY ON DAYS WHEN YOU DON'T NEED TO WAKE UP!

I was supposed to be up, and to have tidied the house by 11am. As it was, the kids got up, sneaky sneaky crept downstairs, got themselves breakfast and watched tv. Ordinarily, i'd call them little angels and praise them for letting Daddy sleep.

However, I was awoken at about quarter to 11 by Tamsyn coming up the stairs, her chest already swelling as she prepared to lauch a tirade that did not stop once in the half hour it took me to get dressed, get my stuff, kiss and hug the girls good bye and run away.

I retreated to Mo's cousins house, and hung around there for the afternoon, then my good friend Thom drove me to Bodmin so I could get the train back to Falmouth. Read this on the train. Tis very good.

Got home about 7ish and had a smoke with Nathan. Spoke to Mojo on the phone, then had some dinner. Spent the evening reading, had a bath and went to bed.

Monday 20th December

Woke up at 10am. Then for some reason went back to sleep and woke up at 1pm. Hmm. Got up and came to college to try and start doing some work. I need to go buy food in a minute, but money is a MAJOR issue at the moment. I had to give Tamsyn £100 for the kids Christmas presents, all of which will be from Father Christmas, not me, and I can't afford to buy them anything else. Am once again wondering about whether leaving college might be an inevitability. Unless something happens on the job front soon, I won't be able to feed and house myself for much longer.

Tis kinda depressing.

Still, at least there's [Old link] to look forward to. smile

I only said you were a would be host. And i thought maybe if you went to invite mr kevin then maybe he'd be more likely to turn up...

Monday 20th Dec [continued]

Did some shopping for food at Tescos, then went home and cooke Chili and Jacket spuds. Very tasty. Brad, Dan, Gerald and Jermaine came over, closely followed by Rosie, Jess and Harry, and we smoked and juggled and stuff. Mojo rang me several times from Earls Court so I could listen to Muse playing live. Shame my phone's so rubbish, I could hardly hear a thing!

Everyone buggered off by about midnight, except for Gerald and Jermaine, and the three of us watched South Park til about 2am. I read for a couple of hours, then went to sleep.

Tuesday 21st December

Woke up about 2pm. Had a cup of tea and a joint, had a shower, hung up my washing and phoned South West Water to put them off for a bit. Then I came into college to do further research for my Burma story. No plans for tonight. Need to do some writing.

Take it easy all

Ok. Tuesday 21st - Thursday 23rd is a bit of a distant blur. Pretty much all I did was get stoned and read Bill Bryson. I feel re-educated. smile On the Thursday I got a lift with Nathan (my housemate) to Lanson, as he was heading past there on his way to Reading to spend Christmas with his folks.

Went straight to Mojo's and hung out there. We went to the pub in the evening and I had a great time getting battered with all my friends that I haven't seen for ages, the one's that all go to various Uni's about the place. Twas very nice.

Friday 24th December

Got up and did Chrimble shopping. Went to the pub. Then went to my good friend Tim's house to have a jam. We had 2 guitars, bass, keyboards and drums, and we funked it up for three glorious hours before heading home to mojo's to grab food, and then on to the pub. Ended up drinking far too much and nearly falling over. Returned to Mojo's to sleep.

Christmas Day

I guess it's about time I started filling in some blanks.

Christmas morning Mojo and I woke up and went downstairs to eat croissants and drink tea with her mum. We gave each other presents and stuff, then Mo's aunt lesley, her cousins, and my friend Si (her cousins boyfriend) came over and we gave them some too. smile

Once that was done we had showers and stuff, and headed over to Lesleys for more presents and Christmas dinner. Eschewing the traditional turkey, we dined on roast chicken, roast beef and nut roast. Was mighty good.

The rest of the evening was spent eating cheese (and picking at leftovers) and drinking port. It snowed quite a lot but didn't settle, although the snow did make the lightning later in the evening go purple. Quite bizarre. At some point Mojo and I staggered back to her house and fell asleep.

I'm not gonna tell you about the rest of Christmas. It was mainly spent in the pub.

Nor am I gonna tell you about New Years, which I spent looking after the girls as it was my turn this year.

Nor am i going to go into any detail about my birthday, which was very nice and chilled and again, mainly spent in the pub.

On the tenth of January Mojo flew to India. I will not see her until June. As a result I have given up shaving until then. I now have a beard.

The first couple of weeks at college have been spent writing articles on Burma, video games and more Burma. Oh, and an essay on post-structuralist concepts of hyperreality and how they affect the ethics of conflict journalism, but you didn't really want to know about that.

For my birthday, Taz (my ex-brother-in-law and all-round good chap) lent me GTA - San Andreas, to give back to him when I have completed it. Good lad, it's a truly amazing game, and has occupied a good 60 of my hours in the last few weeks.

On Saturday last, (the 22nd) there was a Tsunami Appeal benefit gig at the Princess Pavilions in Falmouth. As well as loads of bands there was a fire show consisting of me (painted red again), brad, hava, joss, holly, bump and a bunch of others, including two people with angle grinders. brad has made a cool little video of the evening, which i will post as soon as i can.

After the gig, during which we got covered in mud, we (brad and I) got a taxi to the carpark of ASDA in Penryn, where at midnight we were met by a strange guy with a torch on his head who led us down a track, under a flyover, around a lake and over a bridge until we came to a crazy party in a bunker. We bounced about until the early hours, then went back to Brads to crash.

Sunday I got a lift back into Falmouth on the back of my mate Geralds motorbike (a 250, very nice and nippy) and hung out with Nick for a bit. I borrowed a tv from a mate, and borrowed Nicks VCR, and plugged my PS2 through one into the other, cursing the lack of a SCART socket.

I have just finished reading Iain M Banks' The Algebraist, which is another fantastic chunk of SF storytelling from the hyper-imaginative Scot. Prior to that I read a book called How Mumbo-jumbo Conquered the World: A Short History of Modern Delusions, by Francis Wheen. Highly recommend that too.

This week has been spent trying to get work done before the end of the semester (next week) and organising my life a bit. A little bit. A very little bit.

Wednesday 26th January 2005

Got up about midday and went into college to hand my hardship form into the Finance office. My net access had been cut off because I didnt pay the £58 equipment charge at the start of the year, and I had to get them to turn it back on.

Went home and had a cup of tea and a couple of bifters. Mojo rang from Gokana (sic) and suggested that i use some money of hers to fly out there for a week to see her. I am now looking for a dirt cheap flight to Goa. Haven't had a holiday in years.

I'm off to see the kids on Friday, so I'll probably post again then. Tomorrow is a strange day, I have to research a couple of articles and speak to a Student Advisor about my finances. Oh yeah, and I have to ring the campsite back and book places for about 70 people in time for [Old link]

Take it easy y'all

Wednesday 26th [continued]

Did very little in the evening. Brad came over and we hung out, listened to some tunes etc. He went home about 10ish and I started watching Dusk Till Dawn (cos it reminds me of Mojo redface) but halfway through Nick came back from the pub with a couple of mates and it was funnier to go and talk to them. Got them all stoned, laughed at them for being drunk and borrowed Nicks video so I could go play PS2 for a bit. Eventually he took it back, so I watched the end of DTD, then the documentary about it, then went to sleep about 5ish.

Thursday 27th Jan

Woke up about midday and went into college. Did a bit of research and then went into town to get a film developed. It was about a year old, and had some quite amusing photos on it. biggrin

Say no more. ooooops

Popped round to see Travis but he wasn't in, so I played guitar with one of his housemates, Phil, for a bit, then did a bit of shopping (Independent for Nick, can of tuna, can of sweetcorn, reduced puff-pastry mince pies and baccy for me.)

Popped into Going Places to see about flights to Goa. I've tried looking at a couple of sites on the net, but only succeeded in baffling myself. Going Places are gonna ring me, as is my dad, who's also having a look at flights for me.

Am missing Mojo very very much, but it's ok. Nowhere near as bad as it was last year. Being with her but not around her is better than being around her but not with her. Plus I have about 15 photos of her on the wall by my bed, and she rings me quite a lot, so I'm sure we'll cope.

All my deadlines are on Monday. I need to write 3 1000 word pieces, and (here's the tricky bit) I need to lay of them out in Quark. I have no idea how to use Quark. Maybe I should have gone to my Quark lectures? Hmmmmm. umm

No plans for tonight really, I need to pack my bag to take to Lanson tomorrow and I should do a bit of writing I suppose. I have a vague idea what I'm gonna write, so it shouldn't be too stressful.

If anyone is an expert on Quark however, get in touch as soon as and you can help me. biggrin Much kudos is available to all applicants.

Thursday 27th [cont]

What a nightmare evening! I spent 3 hours hunting for green, only to be palmed off with a mere half! Ah well, at least a few people in Foulmouth got what they wanted. smile Then I went home and chilled for a bit. Adam and a few friends came over and we hung out and talked about music, movies, post-modernism and a bunch of other random stuff till about 2am. Then I went to sleep.

Friday 28th Jan

Got up at ten to 11. Had a really quick shower and pegged it to the station. Got there as the train was pulling in, and read "The Wee Free Men" all the way to Bodmin. I got a cup of coffee at Truro, and it was the worst coffee I've ever tasted in my life. Unfortunately the lid blew off as I was getting on the second train, so I had to drink it all, as i couldnt put it down on the train without it falling over and spilling all down the carriage floor. Yeurch.

Tamsyn picked me up at Bodmin, with Rhe in the back being very sweet. Drove back to her house, then she jumped back in the car and departed for the weekend. Played with Rhe until it was time to go get Izzy from school, then got them home and fed and watered. Planted them in front of the CBeebies story hour and got down to writing the first of my features, a 1000 words on the Burmese leader Aung San Suu Kyi (which apparently has a crap intro, as i didnt self-edit, as I was in a hurry biggrin). It took me longer than I thought, and I didn't mail it off until about 10.45pm. By then of course i'd put the kids to bed, and Thom had come over. (Simon did come over, started rolling a bifter, then Hannah, his gf (and Mojo's cousin) came and marched him out of the house and into a lift down to Plymouth to go to a free party - he didn't even get time to finish rolling the bifter!)

Thom and I played Need For Speed 2 on the PS2 and smoked and drank beer. We talked about going to India to see Mo and Sarah (Thom's bird). He's been planning to go round Europe a bit while the girls are away, but when I said that I thought I would be able to go for a couple of weeks in April, he started working out how he could raise the money to do that as well. So I may not be travelling alone. Even if i do manage to get there, it'll still be 8 weeks at least (assuming I leave straight after Falmouth III) before I get my Mojo back. My beard will be plaitable by then oi reckons. biggrin

Thom left around 1, and I played for a little bit and then went to bed.

Saturday 29th Jan

Woke up about 7am with Izzy and Rhe climbing into bed with me. I had kinda said that they could the night before (hoping that they might get in and sleep - you'd think i'd have learned by now!) so I couldn't really yell at them for it. I think i mumbled something like, "wouldn't you rather watch the telly?" and then lay back and grinned as they fled downstairs.

I lay there listening to the sound of Tweenies for a bit, then lurched downstairs to make coffee and porridge for the girls. Rolled a bifter and sat in a fog-headed daze and wondered how easy it would be to sleep standing up. Horses can do it, but they have special knees.

My other friend Si then came over and brought me some delightfully good green. Truly stinking. I'll keep that for later when I don't need to function. Not that i do right now. Hmm, maybe I'll have a little one while the kids eat their lunch. Currently, Rhe is still glued to the tv, while Izzy is outside playing with the nextdoor neighbours kid Millie.

Should do some work in a bit. I think I'll write a review of GTA San Andreas. Should be a piece of piss (providing i don't write a crap intro biggrin)

Happy Saturday all.
