Well, as my original intro was lost, I guess I get the chance to redo my room!!! Feel free to come on in, just PLEASE take your shoes off at the door! Thank you. smile

Well here's me (again)... biggrin

*NAME- Amanda

*SEX- female

*AGE- 23

*LOCATION- Hmmm... a tricky one! Currently in Durham. I spend my summers in France (miles from civilization), and spring and autumn in Wales (do sheep count as civilization? If so, then a thriving community!) ubblol

*FAV. TOYS- at the moment my fire poi, but also my juggling balls, diabolo, my new staff, guitar, mountain bike, and of course my beloved kayak!...too many more to mention!

*TWIRLING SINCE- learned bits of stuff since 2000, but only really got into it this year. I was on crutches for 3wks, after dislocating my knee (ow!), so I spent all the time learning new poi stuff (every cloud has a silver lining eh?).

*OCCUPATION- Outdoor Activity Instructor/ river guide

*HOBBIES- naturally my poi and stuff, but also do lots of kayaking, canoeing, climbing, mountain biking, snowboarding, and bits of other sports.

*FAV. PLACE- Specific favourite one is sat on the edge of the cliff, overlooking the gorge where I work in France, with nothing around for miles apart from the wild boar, and watching either the sunset in the distance, or one of the impressive lightning storms we have.

I also love anywhere where I can sit on a mountain or beside a river, hearing nothing but the noises of nature. A BIG reminder of the beauty of it all... ubblove

Anyway, thats pretty much me in a nutshell! Feel free to come and chill in my room- its a great place for relaxing and being at one with nature! (and who said i was a hippie?! peace ). On the plus side, tea and cakes are supplied for free!!! And if i'm feeling generous i may even let Narr in with her weird marmite/chocolate spread mix! euch!

Catch you all soon, wave

Mand.

smile

Uranium! LOL!

No, yellow cake is this commercial cake stuff...I dunno, it's a basic cake. Like a sheetcake. Add cocoa powder and it's a chocolate cake. It's absolutely terrible for you, but it is sooooo yummy.

Especially with extra-sugary sweet frosting on it (read: sweetened whipped shortening).

Never had CIDER?

In Michigan during the fall when the apples are in season, cider mills all over the state go into production making fresh cider and ultra-oily-greasy donuts. MMMMM...so good.

Aha, you make the same mistake as me! This is indeed cider as I know it- and I have been known to drink the stuff.
Apple cider as (americans, or just pounce?) know it is non-alcoholic, and can even be drunk hot !
Pounce said she'd bring some over for us to try in Kent, as I seemed completely baffled by the idea! ubblol

Oh, and thanks for the concern- I'm fine now I got out of the confused scariness of your room Narr! ubblol Lots of tea, lots of cake, and lots of pounce made it all better again! biggrin

yes we also have the alcoholic cider, which i am actually rather fond of myself (don't like the taste of beer so i always drink cider). but there is also the hot apple cider for cold nights.....mmmmmm yummy. i went to ohio this fall to visit my best friend and we went to the apple farm. i got fresh made apple cider biggrin oh my goddess that was the best ever. i actually bought a jug of it and took it home! ubblol

yes i am bringing some apple cider your way. unfortunately it'll be the powdered mix kind.....not as good as fresh, but still quite yummy.

Wow, i never knew there was so much in the way of cider... ubblol

Well I've just had the most random night ever. I went for a drink at my local, with one of my old school mates, to catch up on stuff, and was expecting a nice quiet night.
We always seem to atract the local 'characters' in pubs, and tonight was no exception.
We got chatting to a group of random people, and ended up with a 56yr old guy proposing to me. ubblol
He was so sweet. When I turned him down he said that was fine, as it left him open to pursue his career as a lesbian. ubblol He then talked to me for the next hour about how he'd always felt he was a lesbian, as he'd always fancied women! ubblol
He was so sweet, and so funny, I nearly fell of my chair laughing. (I was slightly drunk though!)
Funny night. ubblol biggrin

*giggles her way to sleep, curled up with pounce*
I'm sooo tired, insomnia may be beaten with a big stick tonight. smile

I couldn't sleep last night, and then when I did I had really bad nightmares. I don't usually remember my dreams, but have been lately and they've been really strange.
A while ago I had one about Pele doing poi outside a house in a forest! confused

Last nights was that I was being tormented by nasty ghosts. I was sat on my bedroom floor, trying to wrap christmas pressies, and they were throwing things at me, and lifting me up and throwing me at the wall. Still in my dream, I was REALLY scared, and went into my mum and dads room. My mum was really awful to me. I went back to my room and cried, as I tried to defend myself against flying objects.
I suddenly woke up as I bit through the side of my lip, and had a mouthful of blood. I sat up in my bed for ages with the light on. It really disorientated me, as the dream was based in my room.
Anyway it was weird, and didn't really do for a good nights sleep! ubblol
