Favorite Author/Book: Ann McCaffrey and the Pern series. My imagination can run wild. I see myself now; fighting thread on the back of a flying fire-breathing dragon, purple of course.

I don't particularly care for them, either...just like I don't care for The Family Guy...just a bit much, to me...plus I had to listen to that crap every night for almost 3 yrs...so I'm a bit on the cuckoo side when it comes to avoiding anything and everything that has to do with them...!!!

I was never allowed to watch the Simpsons as a kid so now I just enjoy it if it's on TV, but I don't go out of my way for it.
I don't think the movie will work that well. Shows that are famous for being only half an hour generally dont work when they're extended.

My problem with it is the lack of respect for the parents. If I even thought of half of the stuff that they actually do on that show both of my parents and all four of my grandparents would have tanned my backside.

I think that might have been why I wasn't allowed to watch it.
Dad said I wasn't allowed to watch it, but sometimes when we did watch it (like when we had Japanese students, cos it was a familiar show to them so it made them feel more comfortable) I caught him laughing!!

Well, they make the parents out to be idiots...and altho I know alot of parents who ARE idiots...it doesn't mean it needs to be made even worse...

Some of the one line zingers are good but as a total show, I just don't agree with it. In fact I don't remember the last time I even saw it and then was because it was on at my sisters house.

something that I do think is great with the show is how it's survived for so long and why.
If you look back on the show, it *used* to be all about Bart, but now it's all about Homer. It's how they've managed to keep audiences interested. pretty clever methinks

It actually started out as a little cartoon extra on a variety show...called The Tracey Ullman Show...and it just got bigger than anyone ever expected...
