Posted: 1. Why do you spin fire? its a way for me to break free if only for a while and express myself
2. Where did you learn to spin fire? i started learning right after my eighth grade year at home. was when i was first introduced to poi and i started off playing with practice sets and glow sticks
3. Where is the coolest place you have ever performed? ive had two places that where really cool one of which was just plain and simple on a beach just as it was getting dark out the other was on a lakeside while on a camping trip silhouettes of the tree's in the background the reflection of fire coming from the lake and seeing the rocks at my feet as the fire came closer to the ground
4. What is your fire toy of choice? i spin poi. havent really jumped into much else
5. Have you ever been seriously injured or burned from spinning fire? nothing too serious. got lucky once and just lost a little nosehair, caught my poi in my armpits (result of chickening out) and burned off all underarm hair (you could imagine nobody wanted to be around me) and a few very minor burns.
6. Do you get nervous spinning in front of crowds? when am i not nervous? it becomes a bit more of a daunting task to make sure everyone is safe when theres a growing crowd. not only that but i spin for my own reasons.
7. What are the best clothes to wear while spinning fire? ive always been without shirt (forcive habit given i prodominantly have baggy shirts and half of them get covered in fuel) and a pair of jeans that have no holes or rips (found the frayed edges like to catch fire if your not careful
8. How do you prepare yourself for a performance? listen to music, have a smoke, just sit and think for a while
9. Who are the best fire performers you have ever seen? one of the friends that helped me learn a thing or two =3 gotta love her
10. Where is the best place to buy fire toys? homeofpoi.com where else?

Posted: 1. Why do you spin fire? I spin to find flow. To find freedom from the stresses of life. To find peace and balance. To discipline my body. To teach others. I spin to use the abilities the Creator gave me. I spin to prepare myself for His service.
2. Where did you lean to spin fire? I taught myself with the aid of online resources.
3. Where is the coolest place you have ever performed? Alone, deep in the forest, in the pure light of the full moon. Poi whirling around me, coyotes howling in the distance. There was something special about that night. The moonlight filtering through the leaves and dancing on the ground. The Coyotes in the distance calling, "Come. Join us.".
4. What is your fire toy of choice? Poi. Without a doubt. Poi is an infinite art.
5. Have you ever been seriously injured or burned from spinning fire? Yes. I have burnt hair off everywhere and gotten many minor burns. I have several scars to remind me of them. The worst burn I have ever had was from sparkly poi. I do not recommend them. I was spinning, and doing a fountain. I made a slight error, and the wire cage that contained my wire wool hit my waist. I spent the next half hour digging bits of metal out of my burnt skin. I have spun with wire wool many time since without incident, still I cannot recommend it to anyone.
6. Do you get nervous spinning in front of crowds? Yeah sometime. Part of life I guess. The important thing though is not nervousness itself, it is what we do with our fear. How we overcome it, and channel it to help us succeed.
7. What are the best clothes to wear while spinning fire? Best? I really don't know. I think it depends on your spinning style. When spinning fire, I typically go shirtless, barefoot, and with a pair of pants on that do not have holes or tears.
8. How do you prepare yourself for a performance? I prepare by first of all practicing, but I try to think about how much joy what I am doing will give my audience.
9. Who is the best fire performer you have ever seen? Two words. Nick Woolsey.
10. Where is the best place to buy fire toys? HOME OF POI.
11. What are your future plans for spinning fire? I just want to use it to glorify God, to help those in need, and to bring joy to people. That's all life's about.
I'd rather die on paws, than live on feet.
