just a noob saying hello...
I'm learning to spin my husband's football socks
. I used to run for exercise, but I have a medical condition and can't... so I started spinning a week ago so I'd have something physical to do that isn't too tiring, but is still rewarding.
I like lots of things like airplanes, books, curry, beer, music, drums, guitars, knitting, wii, purple things, cycling, diving, pretty places, nice people, oh and poi!
I just ordered some real poi, but I'll probably keep spinning the socks too! Dunno if I'll ever want to spin fire, it looks amazing, but I'm kidof a wimp.

What is the wing speed of an unladen swallow? Do you mean rate of best ascent, average cruising speed, or what?
Toys: poi, currently husband's socks, but will be moving on to practise poi with chiffon tails (which may get chopped off!)
Hobbies other than the obvious: wishing I could fly planes, cycling, baths, reading, listening to music, resting
Education: phd marine geophysics
Favorite Book(s): to kill a mocking bird, under milk wood, lord of the rings
Favorite Movie(s): little miss sunshine, shaun of the dead
Godzilla vs. a Star Wars Star Destroyer. Who wins? Why? the destroyer. Technology always wins out against biology, eventually our creations will obliterate us!
Favorite TV show(s): the mighty boosh, red dwarf, QI, the league of gentlemen, peep show, nathan barley, umm any comedy that's funny. Which rules a lot out.
Plans for life in general: (i.e. what you want to do when you grow up) I'd like to make a living from my comedy, failing that I'll either be a rich geophysicist or a poor mental health nurse.
Favorite Music Artists/Composers: IAMX, foo fighters, queen, metallica, disturbed, SOAD.... lots really.
Do you think these pants make my butt look too big? Yeah but I find it really hard to tell you, and I hope you're cool with it.
Favorie ice cream flavor(s): really good vanilla. With pods in. Or mint. Or chocolate. Or ben and jerry's cookie dough.

I should have been cool and said 'actually that's not a typo'
on a similar note, whenever my supervisor is watching and I type 'disk' it always comes out as 'dick'
