i saw this and thought it was a joke

but apparently not, i think it looks silly, very very silly
i think this will also increase the cost of going up the tower a lot, which is bad for students like me!!
what are your thoughts?

I kind of think it looks cool. I agree it should only be temporary, but I like how it fits in with the tower's general appearance.

The distance shot looks like a giant granny has dropped a lace doily on it.The close up looks like an alien has dropped a kind of tree fungus!
Either way it looks hilarious!

i dont actually know why you would change something which is already so amazing to look at and be around

Well, because it's a temporary change. So if you don't like it, wait a year and it'll be gone.
I, for one, like it. I think it's a modern take on the latticework appearance of the original tower. I think it's useful and I like how it will increase the amount of observation deck area available. I don't think it should be put there permanently because that would be changing a historical landmark, but I like change.
I think this is a good temporary change.

I don't mind it, they can do what they like with it. I've never seen it in life so what amazed me more in the photos is realising how seriously BIG it is.

yeh as long as it's temporary, i dont really mind, but i cant really see it working visually, i guess i'll have to wait and see, i hope it's not out of action for the construction of this OD when i next go
