anyone seem it/have videos?

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourself, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous and talented? Who are you NOT to be?

i've seen quite a bit of this and it is vicious!

basically a form of escrima - two short sticks and a small variety of blocks and strikes combined to make hundreds of combinations.

a bit like aikido, the filipino open hand and single/double stick techniques are directly applicable to single and double knife fighting eek

no internet vids that i own i'm afraid but you can find quite a bit of escrima stuff by watching old steven segal movies and fast forwarding to the bits where he breaks a pool cue in two and beats more people up wink

^^ isn't Kali Silat from idonesia or malaysia, as opposed to phillino escrima?
i believe that from a twirling prespective, that there are more applicable, martial arts traditions more easily adapted to the circular movements of regular staff spinning. striking forms tend to freak out some audience members and small animals.
think of the puppies!!!

Kali is Filipino. Silat is from Indonesia. Kali-Silat is usually a blend of the two.

Ben, come to Sydney. Guro Dan Inosanto is here next month. smile I might be able to show you a thing or two with the sticks myself. wink

Cheers!
