Hello everyone

My name is Saya (actually it's not but since I've used it on the internet for over three years it has become some sort of second name). Anyway I'm from holland and for my nineteenth birthday (july this year) I got a set of poi's from my boyfriend. I specifically asked for poi's with ribbons/tails (or whatever you call it) but always immediately I started to regret it because they just love to get in the way. But they do make it look more impressive and when I got used to them they got a lot less anoying. Luckily a friend of my had poied once before and she happely learned me the weave, since my boyfriend also had some poi experience I could do the butterfly short after (including ribbons getting in the way most times). With help from my boyfriend and a few looks at the lessons at this site I can do a bit more by now. (luckily) But I still have lots to learn, but I think I should try to make the moves I now look more perfect first, I mean hitting yourself and tangling the poi's up quite often doesn't look really smooth rolleyes

And for other people who wear glasses: don't forget to take them of while excercising. I forgot ones and almost nocked them of my head ubblol

Besides playing with my poi's I have juggled for a while, but I can't do any tricks with just balls. (it gets a lot more fun when there are robes attached to them;) ) And when they are around I sometimes play a bit with my boyfriends flowersticks.

anyway, enough of blabla for now (for those who hadn't noticed: I tended to blabla a lot)

If you should want to know more about me, just ask, maybe I'll answer biggrin

Hello and welcome to HoP welcome wave we're all a little crazy here so you'll fit in just fine hug

A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.

welcome wave
i always wear my glasses while spinning ( mainly because i cant see what im doin without wearing them) but when i started
i knocked them off alot of times, but now i dont seem to knock them off as much weavesmiley

You've got a pointcool Hope you didn't break any glasses while practicing. (I probably would) Luckily I can see pretty well without my glasses. The problem with that is that I keep forgetting them when I do need them while I put them on when I'm about to knock them of my head rolleyes
I hope I'll also come to a point where I wouldn't knock of my glasses if I had them on biggrin

greetings. Is everyone in holland into rpg/larping? I stayed in holland with a larper a couple of months ago and practically everyone i met there was into it (not quite so suprising consider they were his friends, but still!).

I'm not into larping, don't think that's something for me. I don't know if most of the poing people in holland are larping to, two people I know are but I also know a few others who aren't (as far as I know, but I dont know how active they are poing at the moment

I'm only into online roleplaying, mostly elfquest related (i'm a bit of an elfquestfan), and I have tried roundthetabl-rpg (or whatever you call it) only three times, think I like online rpg's better

your welcome:D and thanks for the welcome of course:D

larp is short for live action roleplay, as far as I've seen it on fairs, it's about a bunch of big little kids who run around dressed up hitting eachother with latex(?)swords instead of with plastic like real little kids (now lets hope for me that no larpers are reading this rolleyes)
As I understand larp is like normal rpg's, with everyone playing his own character and stuff but than acted out by the players who dress and act like their characters while larping

wave (don't know why but I like waving smileys, wave to much myself I guess)

@Martha: ouch *remembers not to take of glasses when eyes get worse and go spinning* I guess it won't really matter because if I am still hitting my face often when it comes to that time I would probably have stopped poiing already rolleyes

And they say 'fragments bring luck' (probably not the right translation to english) and I guess it worked for you, if you haven't broken them after the first time:D (i hope not)

@Adya: Yeah, I know (thanks for telling though), didnt know when I came up with the name a few years ago. But when somebody told it it meant 'I' in Indonesion I thought I made the right choise for my nickname, who else then 'I' could I be? cool I also found out that it was a Japanese (or Chinese or whatever) name. And there I was thinking I was original when I came up with the name ubblol

How did you know? (just curious)

G'day! lovely to make your acqauintance dear, and on the glasses thing you could always try out some of those funky string things that attach the glasses to your head.. ok they're not that funky... but they'd stop the glasses from flying off clap
