reverse the motion of your hands. kinda hard for me to explain, but i'll try:

when i do ttn, as the poi go down, i push one hand forward, over the top of and in font of the other.
for reverse, i push forward on the underside of the other hand when the poi are going up.

hope that helps.

The way I learnt this was by doing the outwards butterfly, as the poi go down I swapped my hands over, so the one that was on top is brought down underneath the other.Once I got this mastered and could change on every beat I then moved each hand forwards a bit every time it landed underneath, bringing the other hand back a bit. As you get better at this just exagerate the movements so you end up bringing your hands from the armpit along the underside of the arm to the wrist. And hey presto! hope that helps :-)

Try to learn the TTN with only one Poi circling around the other - its a nice way to get a feeling for the planechange in a TTN

It is often helpful when attempting to learn the "opposite" moves, i.e., overhand ttn to underhand ttn, to deconstruct the move and apply the same poi path to the new direction. As MiG previously stated, all you have to do is "reverse the motion of your hands". Take a look at how you actually do your ttn - where are the poi in relation to your hands at the various points in the revolution? Break that down, and reverse it. If one hand is going over the other, it would go under, etc. Understanding the fundamental motion of poi will aid you in learning.

firstly can someone tell me wtf TTN is lol.

secondly i only just got this last night biggrin biggrin biggrin basically with forward thread the needle, your hands are sliding over the tops of your forearms while doing a butterfly motion. with reverse, your hands have to slide on the underside of your forearms while you do a (reverse) butterfly motion.

and to be fair to mig, his statement is correct, just not very explanitory (is that a word??)

TTN is all about the "one potato, two potato, three potato, four" hand movements wink Forwards TTN is taking the hand off of the bottom, pulling it back and putting it on top, reverse TTN is taking the hand off the top, pulling it back and putting it underneath the other hand.
