ok then, seeing as its that time of the year when you find out if you're a nerdy swat or a complete failure, lets list those subjects. be it for gcse or a levels, or anything you've chosen to study in the past.
I never got entered for my exams but I did the mocks before xmas and i passed all of them!
So, at school I chose these gcse subjects...
Child Development
Art
Business Studies
Home economics
ones I had no choice in learning were
the 3 sciences - chemistry, physics and biology
history
geography
english
maths
french
and
Welsh.
the only ones I enjoyed was Art and home ec! I should have chosen driver's ed! grrr
oh well thats in the past now, I shan't dwell upon it, seeing as it was 8 years ago!

pure maths, physics, english studies, legal studies and... furniture construction (yr 12/final HS year/senior - straight C [13/20])
aviation maths, navigation &meteorology, aviation physics, aerodynamics & aircraft systems (yr 1 uni - dropped out half way through. mid year results weren't pretty though)
now... i'm doing all sortsa stuff, mostly related to trade based stuff...

I did standard GCSE's, 10 of them.
For my A-Levels I did Maths & Stats, Chemistry and Computing.
Then I did 2 years of my Philosophy degree (but also sat modules in Cultural Studies) before deciding that I hate organised education.
I have to be able to choose what I am studying or I have no interest at all. I was constantly pushed through school by my teachers and have grown to resent it. For those of you who are (or want to be) teachers - There is a difference between encouragement and bullying.
I'm still reading philosophy in my own time and have also taken up reading astronomy and physics.

Have a Certificate of Higher Education in Oceanography with Chemistry.

Summert?
There are too many arty students these days, leading to a lack of Doctors and professional Scientists. I hope people see the light, and chose to study Science.

Firstly 'Summert' is a country phrase meaning 'something' if you could not distinguish that!!
and secondly its important for everyone to do something creative, even the doctors you speak of. Do you deny everyone in the world a chance to express themselves because 'we need more doctors'? meh!!! sounds like on your the wrong website love.

Being creative is great. We all like doing it. Unfortunately, being creative doesn't set bones.
Anyway, studying a scientific subject does not stop someone expressing themselves.
Nor does studying any form of art prevent logical thought.
It seems to me you're making one of those "false dichotomy" thingies...

Of course I don't think creativity should be impressed! I used to love art and graphic design, but I lack the imagination and such necessary to produce anything worthwhile.
... but the amount of people chosing the art's over the sciences is unbelievable! One guy I know acheived 90% average in Chemistry, and still has time to take part in dramatic productions on the side!... and a lot of people in my Uni Juggling club were Scientists.
