I sincerley hope all of you and your friends...everyone really are ok.
This could well be a dumb idea safteywise I'm just now realising, but some sort of music pumping into the street, even some spinning entertainment (probably not fire while people are jumpy over explosions) oughta help relax people, and calming people down, making them happy's gotta be a good thing now. I'd consider it a personal favour if someone in london would start something nice playing now.

Good luck and hugs to everyone being victimised and tied up with it London right now, especially everyone like the emergency services doing things to help.

It's a good thought but people, given the time and present events could take it the wrong way too 'wrong time and place' 'attention seeking' 'ignorance'.

I dunno.

I've still to hear from a non-spinny friend.

Anne.

She went to work in London last week as press officer for the Red Cross... still haven't heard from her.

Am sure she'll be grand.

Yeah...I don't know, is it better to try to make people happy and risk retribution, or at least risk pissing someone off, or to avoid anoying anoyone through action then?

No more nastiness I hope.

Quite right, it's a bloodyminded wasteful destruction of life and enjoyment. I still want to know what the motivation was and how someone can justify something like that.

Sorry hun, but I was asked to keep people up dated as I see it on the TV and this is a press conference by the police and transport services. They gave lots more detail of casualties but they went so fast silly lil dyslexic me couldn't keep up. When they do an update I'll post that info.

I just heard something very odd and a bit disturbing, my friend who lives about half a mile from victoria station in central london said about 4am she was woken up by a some vans pulling up and sniffer dogs coming out and supposedly there were helicopters in the area, coincedence, or did they actually get a tip off and were told they havent so they dont seem stupid to prevent it

An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind

That's a very good question...

Anyone?

Skully... go for it darlin... it's upsetting, but you're doing a good service... we don't know how many non-registered people are reading this and finding out about friends and suchlike.

And incidentally, just heard from another friend that Anne is fine. She was in work already when it happened.

Wow. So, mz dad and I flew into Gatwick Airport this morning. Our plane landed at 9:10. Took the train into the city (probably one of the last ones running we suspect), and while waiting, kept wondering why the underground was closed, and what the emergency situation was.

We found out on the train to Victoria Station in central London. Got there, all the platforms were empty, everyone got off, and went out. My dad and I were pretty confused about the whole thing, managed to get a city map, as we had to walk to our hotel (Edward Lear Hotel near Oxford st.) by foot. Man we were glad that we only took backpacks!!! But we got headaches from the amount of sirens going off, in every direction, cop cars, ambulances, everything all over the place!

Went out the get towels, and something to drink, Oxford street was closing down, theatres closed, most of the clothing stores closed, hell, Starbucks shut down! But, the world isn't quite over yet - McDonalds was still open. We actually pre-searched a resturaunt that claimed to be staying open so we can eat tonight...

Thankfully this hotel has internet service, so we've been able to write e-mails, because we've already gotten texts from my host family and my boyfriend in Germany who are worried sick about us (but I'm running out of money on my phone...)

The best of luck to those injured, and to those trying to get home later tonight! The hotel here is full, and later tonight puting out extra beds for people who have decided to stay in the city and not get out.

What a shock to arrive to when the last time you were in London was when you were 3!! But the people here are very calm and holding themselves together rather wonderfully. They may have shut central London down for the better part of a day, but they can't kill it!

Support for Skull from me as well, even if it didn't come across that way in my last post. I was agreeing with the anti expolsions sentiment.

Right to all you wandering how to get home tonight in london the police are asking you stagger your leaving times from work so that the small amount of public transport that is running can cope with numbers.

Plan your route carefully to avoid the affected areas. Allow lots of time for your journey and remain vigilant. Do not panic if you think you have seen something suspicious, just move away from the area and report what you see to the authorities.

My own personal message to you all is stay safe and take good care of yourselves. hug

Its 4.10pm right now and this all started at 8.51 am

I now have critically/seriously ill casualties.... the number currently stands at 45 people. Thats from all the sites.

Minor injuries they roughly estimate casualties at 300 ish. Its hard to say numbers because some people walked away from the sites after they had been walked out of the tunnels and never went to hospital because their injuries were so small.

Message to all those that have children in schools in london. Any child not picked up will be cared for as arrangements have been made to keep them in the schools until their parents/gardians are able to collect them.

I woke up this morning to be faced with this- home desecrated, my friends threatened, possibly killed.

I'm in the US right now just in case anyone was worried.

My thoughts are with you all. This makes me feel sick to my stomach.
