So here I am again. It's been a while hasn't it. My alto sax initially got a lot of use. Funny isn't it, how a fulltime job takes away all your spare time. Haven't had any time to poi too, apart from Jugglejam on Mondays and the monthly Moonfests. And even then, it somehow seems I tend to play with the stockwhip instead of poi shrug

Another lens has been added to the stable too. A Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5.. nice and wiide. But it all boils back down to that time issue. Despite having the new lens, I seem to find I'm out taking less pictures.. the folio hasn't been updated in a while, and I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm stagnating. Must. Get out of this rut.

If you're my muse and reading this, inspiration needed now. hug

-Edited 14 Dec 2005-

I liken this to opening the fridge to find that jar of misc what's it, several months expired ubblol. Hey how's it going? wave

So what's new! Well.. poi's getting a bit better for one thing. Nice how after poi-ing for a while, you stop hitting yourself senseless. In fact, one might argue how after a certain point, each hit puts more sense into you.. wink Haven't gone skating or rockclimbing in a bit, but that's ok- life's full of wonderful distractions, and really, you can only do a couple at a time.

University's just wrapped up! Yep. A degree in art & visual culture, television & digital media.. Just waiting for a piece of paper at the moment (yay!). And trying to sort out how Australia will let me live here forever and ever biggrin. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is, you so ought to visit *nudge* wink Also been getting out the with photography and stuff- a couple of projects to follow up on, blue skies and puffy clouds as far as I can see.

Updates updates. [insert geek] I've updated my camera gear too.. my 20D, 17-85 4-5.6 IS and 580EX now have a 70-200 2.8L IS to play with.. soon too, riding on getting a particular gig, either a 350D and a 24-105 f4 IS, or another 20D.. -grin- [/end geek]

[edit 14/12/05: Gig didn't go through, and ended up performing at it instead of shooting it ubblol Life has a funny way of messing you about doesn't it.. so no 2nd body for me just yet, or nice 24-105 f4 IS redface]

Been taking lots of photos lately. I think there's something intrinsically beautiful in capturing moments- you know how you look at a photo and it brings you back to where you were that day, who you were with, how the air smelt even.. Maybe one day I'll get to exhibit ubblove.. but yeah.. lots of work to be done meantime.

Hmmmm.. yes the world's beautiful today. It's good to have new toys, new moves, new direction.. old friends hug.. a best friend hug2, and enough distractions not to get bored for too long.

Btw.. favourite words haven't changed.. ubbrollsmile And mm.. I'm still not too close to balletic, and dulcet..

Hmm.. la la la laaa squawk.. footinmouth

[edit 14/12/05: I now have a beautiful alto saxophone- the best use of which I have thus far found, is to attract ducks and other misc waterfowl]

Yep, how about we say still aspiring. biggrin

Hope all's well with everyone- don't be strangers now! hug biggrin

I've been exploring this site a bit lately, and have decided everyone seems like a nice bunch- thought it's about time I said hello. Ryan, 24, born in Singapore, but Brisbane Australia has been home to me for the past 3 years.

I love photography, playing the guitar (if one took a picture of me with my guitar, it looks like I'm playing it- does that count?), getting from point A to B on my trusty mountain bike, inline skating and hockey, occasionally rockclimbing, and just being in good company. I'd also like to add poiing to the list when I stop hitting myself senseless.

Irrelevantly, my two favourite words (I've got heaps if anyone's interested) are 'balletic' and 'dulcet'. 'Balletic', unfortunately, isn't a word I'd use to describe anything I can do, and 'dulcet' is a word I haven't dreamt of aspiring towards yet.

Enough for now, don't be strangers! biggrin

Mandy: Hey miss! hug Long time no see.. Is Melbourne treating you well?

Common Ground.. *sigh*.. I'm probably not going this year.. Hey- how's your whip stuff going?? I desperately want to get a pair of short doubles!

Pat: Didn't end up going to Kuan Yin (in the valley, just across the road from the bottom of the Chinatown [not the pub/cafe section] bit). If you go btw, order a veggie chicken rice, taiwanese fried chicken, and a plate of veggie ham, together with a barley milk tea with pearls.. wink

But yeah. No Kuanyin tonight.. just some unnameable fast food chicken and ginger wine. Been overfed and not feeling great, but tomorrow's going to be a good day to detox ubblol..

Lou: Yup.. you know the one obviously.. wink Never too late.. but I guess I could just catch you at the markets tomorrow and perhaps do $40 of shopping for weird things biggrin Of course, after $740 of window shopping! *waves at waving nekos* biggrin

New episode of Sex On Salt Spring... lol

lots of spanking in this thread...

Didnt know you like whips Ry!

My favorite too! I just about got a matched set at the EJC this year, but decided to experiment more to find the ones I want. I really liked Arashi's, a bull whip, quite long, but very lovely motion to it.

What kind do you like most? I love spinning the whips like poi and cracking them, yum...

Tired and lonely tonight. Think the trouble with letting a guy into my life is then I notice when he is gone, and strangely , feel lonely. I like being alone, so why lonely? Odd. I am confused. But hopefully will catch up on sleep tonight and turn back human. Hopefully.

Administer chocolate? Please?

Sigh. It is quite endearing the way he always manages to leave at least one item of clothing at my place though. Is that the human male equivelent of urinating the claimed territory perimetor? I wonder. ( *idlely wonders if I got him to pee the perimeter of my garden if it would keep the deer out?*)

Ah well, at least his clothes smell yummy...

i think its maybe a wee bit wrong that i went thru the tshirts i could see to find one that smelt like him. confused

i no no.

mmmm whips ubblove
when i brought my second whip in melbourne after uberoz, i didnt have the whip puk gave me with me, i was like "im sure this isnt 6ft" "no no it is. its the biggies one we have here" "are you sure? im sure its not as big. its deff lighter and thinner" "no im sure its 6ft"
it wasnt.
its at least a foot shorter than my puk whip and lighter and thinner. but its still nice, and black (altho not with a black handle. iv yet to get one thats allll black with a pink cracker) and made of kangaroo leather. and i can use em both at once, but they feel all uneven

meh

Andrea: mmm! Love whips.. though when I first began I remember almost taking my ear off with one.. then proceeding to tear the supra spinatis in my right shoulder because of lousy technique (and noone to teach me better!). These days I'm using one of Puk's whips- I believe it's a Nemeth.. medium length ish.. 8 plait kangaroo hide? But I'm after a Peter Jack (The Whip Man!) matched pair modified stock whip with brake outs.. short ones.. 4.5 to 5 foot? Much like (the middle one isn't.. that's the Zenith bullwhip..):

ubblove ubblove ubblove ubblove ubblove ubblove ubblove ubblove! (The Zenith bullwhip is nice too, but one of them is far far faar down the track..)

I've seen the Australian Ladies' whipcracking champion Angie Mooney do some really inspiring stuff with short doubles and I'm pretty keen to turn it poi like ubbangel.. (everything can become poi! wink)

Funny you should mention chocolate.. I'm feeding myself with Mint Club (ubblove devil!!), and just came back from groceries, with a ridiculous amount of chocolate honeycomb too.. help yourself? Administer, btw, is a great word in that context.. ubblol

Urinating clothes.. *shakes head* ubblol

Mandy: mmm.. the one that Puk gave you was nice.. a Nemeth one too I think.. not exactly sure.

Still not too sure where they start measuring and where they end.. A girl (Perth girl Brisbane stole.. wink) who came down on Monday had a whip she bought in Texas and it was weird. It was probably 8 or 9 foot? And the handle was probably only 15cm long! A bit like a bull whip, but really light and difficult to crack. Was a good challenge though. Good but frustrating.

Speaking of crackers.. Get yourself a spool of kevlar thread! They make the loudest and longest lasting crackers.. biggrin And I suppose you could paint it pink if you really needed ubblol..

Lou: Stalker guy.. phht. *Marge sound-of-disapproval* You're a worry. *sigh*

But yeah.. really good to hear you're actually ahead in your Indo for a change.. Hang in there and enjoy the meantime- fulltime work's a bit of a.. you know.. How long more is the semester?

Oh, work Hopping is not a problem, noone minds if we spend SOME time slacking as long as we get our work done. That'll change of course once I'm not a student anymore, or once someone sees that collection of whips and thinks I'm on some softporn site (which I suppose the intro section in general isn't that much different from ubblol)

By the way, there's no cat of nine tails there. Someone post one please? I don't have webspace anymore so can't link frown
