I always sing that when it's raining and I come across people with no umbrella. Seriously.

Though it's not really mean cause I usually don't have one either and am soaking wet and happy.

Phew! Got the work done in time, and had a great weekend down south smile

Met up with a friend in London, saw V for Vendetta, got choccie mint ice cream as I ordered and a choice of single malts. Then next morning I got wonderful cooked breakfast, with eggs done the way they do them in "V" biggrin

Then off to Southampton to my friends' moving in together party, met lots of nice new people, had discussions about lots of geeky topics, did a small fire show for them, slept next to the world's worst snorer but was tired enough to just roll over and continue sleeping every time he woke us all up, played games, got another cooked breakfast, lots of coffee and now I'm back home smile

It's alright here, but I'm at work and don't get any of the nice and cool Scottish sun, cause we don't even have a window. I have to start sleeping more I think, my last 6 weekends were either spent travelling (and not getting much sleep) or being sick (and getting sleep but not in a relaxing way) or at work! Bloody PhDs...

I have some holidays left but I doubt I can really take them all AND get my work done.

Here, have some sunny smile

6 weeks? wow!! I don't even GET 6 weeks a year frown

I've spent quite a bit of mine, but mostly on "duty" visits to Germany for Christmas and my mum's 60th birthday and moving in with the now-ex-boyfriend, so it feels like I haven't actually had any real holidays... I've just checked my plan and I've taken 4 days just for myself, and they all go under "recovering from weekends away and performances" wink

add to that how many weekends and late evenings I've spent in here, and I've probably taken NEGATIVE amounts of holidays ubblol

yeah, I've got that much because here we can opt for a (to a certain extend) longer working week and get more holidays in return. But I'm still working more than that and not going on holidays. And about this what to do on holidays: well, I guess the last time when I was on holidays like doing something for myself was ... spring 2005, I was in New York, where I split up with my then-boyfriend. *yay*

Ooooooh, looks like they're somewhere far-eastern biggrin Thanks a lot bounce

I've decided that at some point during writing up my thesis I shall pack the laptop and some books and go somewhere else, then work a few hours every day and spend the rest being on holidays. Too bad it'll be winter then and I can't ski ubblol

my snowboarding trip was about 10 years ago now... the wounds (physical and psychological) have had sufficient time to heal... gotta get down to the slopes again one year soon... I'm not any good @ it, but even falling down is (mostly) fun

@ Pogo: I was pretty busy falling down, too, but at least I didn't break any bones. Just a heart *looks very theatrical* ... I managed to pick up a guy there on the slope (figuratively speaking) or rather he picked me up (literally speaking) ... ubblol
