Right, well after much arm twisting from ben-ja-men I've been told I have to do an intro thread so here goes:

Name - Lexie

Lives - Guildford but in March will be going on adventures in Oz

Age - 23

Toys - Poi and am starting to learn staff and did have a go at juggling until Zeb, my rabbit, ate one of my balls!

Occupation - Schmoozing with pop stars (ok I make them tea and spend the rest of the time on hop!!!!)

Hobbies - Spinning, festivals, snowboarding (did a season in Meribel ubblove and looking forward to going in Oz with Ben) & eating pies.

Music: Anything except pop and uk garage! Levellers is in the cd player at the mo but I also like Metallica, Shpongle, Ott, Mogwai, Radiohead, loads of different stuff really.

Books: Reading Fox Evil by Minette Walters at the mo which is really good.

Oh and I like pink but prefer purple. Pink purple is also good - a bit like the colour of the techs which I'm going to win at Falmouth off 2bags wink!!

Vix - you're welcome to come to Guildford anytime (obviously except when I'm working). Still not sure about the party - I really want to go but I've still got to hear back from my friends who live near Reading! I'll go and pester them now!! It would be good!! smile

have just given my "tribute to ben" video to strugz.
i have no idea how long it will take before it will be
up - you'll have to talk to strugz about that - but i'd
guess it'll be up at least before xmas smile. i hope it
fits your specifications.

it contains about 16 seconds of dual fishtails with
a 360 degree turn. i believe it to be the only video
of its kind to date.

Pyroducky - hello! Yes, recovered from working all weekend!! Please come in when I'm next working - Tues or Thursday night!! Will make the shift go quicker!

2bags - Can't wait to see it. It was an honour filming it on my camera! I've never seen anything like it before. Will be in Southampton this weekend so maybe I'll get a preview?

Hows the challange going? I've been meaning to talk to you about mine - I've decided I want a new one...

Lex... i don;'t think 2bags will allow that.

I can't wait to see that footage. I mean it was utterly amazing to see it being performed live...

Yes, to be honest nothing will compare to seeing that live - I doubt that we ever will again either. At least we've got it on video though.

Don't worry, the challenge is still on (I was trying lul him into a false sense of security)!!

what do you mean "kind of weaving"? the challenge
is certainly not to have them "kind of weaving". the
challenge is to have three poi bloody-well weaving,
with one in one hand and two in the other doing a
one-handed butterfly.

and the vid is on www.soton-firespinning.co.uk in the
downloads then members' downloads section under
"(another) tribute to ben".

Yes but its not really because its half butterfly and half weave! Hows yours coming on?

Will you be around on Sunday? I'm visiting an old family friend at uni on the Sat night then thought I'd call in on you lot on the way back!

Unfortunately I can't see the vid on my horrid computer. I'll try and get on the pc and have a look at some point

it's not a half butterfly and a half weave. it's a full butterfly
(one-handed) and also simultaneously a full weave (but
with an extra poi in one hand). cool

and i've not started learning mine yet. i'll probably start the
day before fredmouth. poi tricks don't usually take very
long to learn ubbrollsmile

perhaps instead of spending your time practising a trick
you're not going to be able to do, you'd be better off saving up
for a new ticket to aussieland. can you tell me what class i'll
be flying in (i do have a preference for business class) and
with which airline. could you also request an aisle seat 'cos
i like to stretch my legs out. cheers.

i think i will be around on sunday yes, please drop in for a
cuppa tea. smile

Hmm well my challenge was getting the sin city sign. You changed it yourself. So I think my first class ticket to Oz is pretty safe (business class doesn't cut it for me)!

Cuppa tea sounds good, maybe you could show me the video because I can't see it on my computer?? smile
