For those of us that don't read EVERY thread in HoP, can the rest of y'all title the threads a bit better so we can choose which ones we care to read.
When you type in your subject there is a sentence from Malcom reading:
Please make your subject unique and meaningful.
About HALF of the current threads in the Chat section are people trying to be cute by purposely NOT saying what the thread is about in the title.
Please respect the site and the rules by having a title which explains the contents of the thread.
If you accidentally are guilty of this you CAN go back and change your title by 'edit'ing your first thread.

"Accidentally" is a polite way of saying "Did it and now realize that you shouldn't have"
Like when they say "If you accidentally took my wallet, please give it back with no questions asked"
As for Flash and I? My fault. I'm so often sarcastic that she thought that I was being sarcastic at her. Which I wasn't. It was just a coincidence.

Nice one NYC.. Can you believe I actually went to sleep last night thinking I should start a thread about this very (and appropriately named) topic?! And, I wake up and voila!
So, please kids. Name your threads appropriately. It helps with the search function and you never know, if you name your thread properly, ThoseOfUsThatDon'tReadEveryThread may be more inclined to partake in your witticism.

you are taking away our right of free speach within, an accepted PG10, script.
if we all dance with fire, we respect each other already, those that dont will leave. i dont think we should worry too much about thread titles?! witty threads make the world go round, why should titles be any different.

Sadly, free speech is not an option here on Home of Poi, and when site admins/ mods make a reasonable request, it is expected that HOP members, who agreed to a set of guidelines when signing up for the UBB, will adhere to such requests.
I personally feel that in Social Chat it is less vital to name posts correctly, however in the Technical forums, Help & Social Discussion it is necessary, especially considering the size and age of this community. What is two clicks away, anyway? A sever under-estimation my friend, that's what! Have you ever tried searching for something specific on these forums?
Having been a registered user for all of 1.5 months, FoeHammer, do you really think you have the background experience within these forums question policies?

HoP is a wonderful forum unlike any other on the internet because the Moderators do an amazing job.
If you're looking for chaos and free speech, might I suggest the other 99.7% of the internet.
I see no reason why the titles of the threads can't be more specific. I see that as NO infringement on your civil rights nor opression of your beliefs.
Though, I'm a bit uncomfortable having MY post the one with the sticky on it. I just wanted to make a suggestion. I'm viewed as enough of a wet blanket as it is... not that I really care but...

I love how you have added 'chaos' with 'free speech', as anyone voicing their opinions has to be part of some anarchist group (sorry to those liberal socialists - i know quite well that an anarchist state can function in complete harmony).
i understand the need for better thread titling and will adhere in the future.

Please, don't do things out of concern for the moderators' employment.
We didn't become moderators on Home of Poi so we could fil our time - each one of us has active lives outside of these forums... I personally would much rather be able to read posts and respond like a normal HoPper, as opposed to logging on and having to clean up after people, and make repeat requests and ban head-cases.
Anyway, the point is:
PLEASE TITLE YOUR THREADS APPROPRIATELY.

I agree, with mostly everyone.
However, please don't use this thread as an excuse to be sarcastic or unwelcoming to members who don't name their thread apropriately...Be nice to them, and ask them politely to make future thread titles more specific.
Especially newbies, as they likely haven't read this thread...

I agree Charles, however all newbies and older members should know that they need to title threads properly, as seen in the FAQ's and [Old link]

Sooo....
No. We chose not to respect the forum by titling our threads appropriately. Not only that, but we establish a sense of elitism by retitling old threads in a way that ONLY those who've been 'in the loop' will be able to understand what's going on here.
It's even more sad because most of the people who are doing it have been here the longest and gained the most by HoP being such a warm and welcoming place.
