First off, I'm not new. I joined the boards before intro's existed, so I never made one. So, I figured I'd wait for something important before doing so - 1000 posts counts as good enough in my book, so here I am. Now on to the details...

Name: Heidi
B-day: October 16
Age: soon to be 30 eek
Location: 3 blocks from the beach and Gulf of Mexico in TX
Other hobbies: I make quilts and play the flute

I've been spinning for over 4 years. It seems like a lifetime ago that I didn't know what fire spinning and poi were. I started with staff, but then migrated over to poi (I still play with both though).

Now for details about the place...Spitfire has her chateau, Vanize has a wonderful island for diving, so I decided to make this place into a food market. It's got a nice farmers market over in one corner, a fresh sushi place as well, lots of ethnic stuff around - a thai place, a mediterraean place, a stir-fry chinese place, lots of indian food, and some northern italian fare as well. Oh, and for when you are done eating, there is a nice corner filled with pillows, cushions, and lots of quilts to take a nap in.
can you tell I think about food A LOT?

So come in, enjoy the food, and stay a while...

biggrin bounce bounce2 bounce bounce2 Thankies!

How is Chicago treating you? Are the classes coming along well? Getting to do any sight-seeing?

I'm all moved in to the house now, and loving every little bit of it. Oh, and I found out yesterday I have an avocado tree in the front yard. We had some pretty serious storms the other night, and the tree ID'd itself for me.

Huh, I never knew avocado's grew on trees!
I guess I never really knew where they came from, but the thought of an avocado tree sounds strange to me. umm
Mmmmmmmm.... endless guacamole! ubblove

Lets steal a spaceship and head for the sun, and shoot the stars with a lemonade ray gun.

yeah, I never thought they would have grown on trees either. The leaves of the tree are rather large, so I can't tell if there are any more on the tree than the 2 that fell off the other day. I'm hoping there's more, though. They sure do take a while to ripen though. The one that I picked up Monday morning is still rock hard.

apparently ubblol ubblol I've gained too much weight to be seen in such clothes again. I think I'm the heaviest I have ever been at the moment, and I'd like to lose 3-5 pounds so I can fit back into most of my pants again.

ohhhh, cool! Lucky you. I get to move into a new office this afternoon, complete with a window and a view, so I'm uber happy. The downside is that I loose my officemates which means I'll be lonely as the new office is quite. But, I can see both the gulf and the bay and actually see when it rains and when the sunshine is out which is a HUGE improvement over the lab I'm in where it could be hailing outside and I wouldn't have a clue.

How's the new office?

Just having a quick coffee before getting ready to head out. Of course, that doesn't help with any jitters. (That's it, can blame it on the coffee) wink.

Cheers!
