Romanians beware! a little dragon is headed your way next year! (that kinda rhymes! and i didnt even mean for it to!)
a lovely (fat!) letter arrived in the post today "i am delighted to let you know that you have been recomended for a placement with GAP in Romania, teaching English as a Foreign Language"
i will get a phone interview within the next few months to determine my specific placement, and i will find out "from mid-september" where and when exactly i am going.
I'm so excited! reading the details on Romania; "Romania is a fascinating and beautiful country..." it was sinking in! i'm going to be in Europe next year!

visa arrives with my passport from the embassy before I leave on friday!!*clears throat*
according to my project manager, it'll be done tomorrow. It might be completed tomorrow, but we still need postage time!

Ooooh, Rouge you're getting there!!! You'll get there, feel all awkward, find out what face you make when you have no clue whasoever is being said to you, wander about, and stuff! Then, next think you know, 4 months have passed, and you have friends and family there, and you've fallen in love with someone there. Not that any of that happened to me *cough*

With 24 hours to go, I still have no visa.
am going on a wild goose chase trying to find it and the scary thing is that as the sender the embassy has to do it! not making me feel comfortable at all!
on a happier note - i have a host family! grandparents and their 9 year old son! the mother is at university in bucharest, and the father works abroad. and they live in a house, not a flat, and i will have my own room.
i'd be excited if i wasn't so stressed. i had a liquid breakfast and i don't think i even tasted my lunch (my last meat pie for a while!)

the people at our local post office are absolute SAINTS! They have helped SO much in the last two days it has been fantastic!!! complete and utter SAINTS!!!!

HELLO MY INTERNET FAMILY!!!!!!
Romania is cool! Cold to be more accurate! (
that was so lame!) I am still in Bucharest and have just finished my teacher training course, and tomorrow i am getting taken to the small mountain town where i will be for the next 5 months! a small town where there is only one pub that shuts at 6 and when i asked if there were any shops i got laughed at! but at least i have someone else there with me which is more than what the last person there had!
It has snowed here the last few days, but not much. the GAPper from the UK said it's just like UK snow so there's a visual for all you UK HoPpers. But apparently it's been snowing all week in the town where i am going!
so excited! It will be most interesting indeed, especially when the guy going with me is an ex-all boy boarding school boy who is possibly one of the randiest people i have ever met! it's hilarious!

it SO was!
i went to the mountains last weekend and had the weekend of my LIFE! i am not kidding! it was the best weekend ever!!!!!!!
i climed a mountain and went caving!
i nearly didnt go cos i was told it would all be boys who coundlt speak english - but they did speak english and i never care if i am the only girl anyway and i had a BALL! (actually, now i have half the guys from that weekend chasing me which is incredibly funny! i keep geting calls and im like "who the ... are you?"
