Hello, and welcome to

THE HOME OF POI MONKEY TREEHOUSE

a place for all ape related HoPsters to call their own

and aren't we all related to apes in some way?

My Reasons For Building This Monkey Treehouse

1. i had a lovely intro thread on the old board, but don't feel the need to have it moved over. i don't have time to keep it fresh and reliably reply to stuff anymore. But it'd be nice to have a thread where i can come and chat rubbish every so often.

2. i feel there is something of a covert secret brotherhood of HoP monkeys, and a place for us all to plan, plot, and/or prevaricate on issues of monkey importance is long overdue.

3. Eva Sunbeam wants somewhere to post a monkey picture she found wink

4. Everywhere should have a monkey treehouse smile

Rules Of The Monkey Treehouse

i. No banana pilfering, thievery or burglary of any nature.

ii. Any references to "monkey loving" are to be of a Family Friendly Nature.

iii. Every, any, all and each monkey that wishes to call the monkey treehouse their home may do so; but first they must introduce themselves to the treehouse, supplying ANY RELEVANT INFORMATION about their person. Failure to do so shall result in being called before the High Council of Monkeys, and the offender may be required to pay a fine of up to 17 bananas.

iv. No whooping after 11pm.

v. Non-monkey HoPsters are welcome to make use of the monkey treehouse's facilities, including the pool, bingo hall and miniature golf course. Ape related salutations, jokes, anecdotes or other messages shall be warmly appreciated.

Let the monkey business commence... ubbloco

A lot of people are asking me to get help for their teenaged children, boyfriends, spouses and sometimes themselves.

ubblol

Dr Orzack has a point, but seems to rather overstate it's importance methinks.

Possibly motivated by the fact she makes loads of money "intervening" on behalf of pissed-off parents and girlfriends.

It's funny how computer games are still seen, far moreso than other hobbies/activities, as a "waste of time", "antisocial" etc...

have had lectures about how i should be spending my time with "real people" from peeps i met on HoP, which is exactly what work colleagues say when they find out i'm talking to Hoppers ubblol oh the irony...

Just luddites if you ask me shrug

Heya aidan wave

tricks are so out. they're totally unfashionable these days.

the zeitgeist is all about substandard dancing while being distracted by a prop

Some may think that this approach ignores the fact that the interesting thing about object manipulation is the manipulation of an object, and that possibly if you wish to express yourself through dance, you should maybe try.. erm... dancing?

But i wouldn't agree with that even slightly ubbangel
----------end of digression-------------

anyhoo, i coulda guessed you wouldn't make it to London this year you big lazy rubbish dude tongue hug You're welcome on the boat anytime biggrin

give your girlfriend a pinch on the bum from me. a PROPER one. I want there to be a shriek and french swearwords involved.

and remember, i'm still totally owed a lesson in how to burn off properly smile

I'm gonna HAVE to buy some pegs! (No one seems to have given me any!) shrug

You can't scientifically 'explain' hugs! They're supposed to be instinctual!

hug Sorry! I dunno why I did that! Suppose it's a primate thing. Every primate needs to get funky with a Monkey... ubbangel

weird...

its as if this person's ignorance/dislike of a massive area of object manipulation has made their opinion of your skill in another area of object manipulation more valid confused

that's not to say that your hoop isn't stunning (ooh, that sounds a bit funny) cos it is smile
its just strange that you value this person's approval so much when up till tuesday, they have been dismissive of your skill in other arts shrug

stupid jugglers turning up at spitz and using all the space mad

and i know you said that they shall remain nameless, but a cookie says it was **th** ubbangel

p.s. i may have to totally steal your argument that reveals the zeitgeist as a little bit silly hug

You owe me a cookie biggrin

He's bigged up my poi for years now. Not in the company of other jugglers of course wink

What i liked about juggler x's praise was that

a) it wasn't praise from someone who gives praise easily, therefore increasing it's value.

b) it showed that my hoop stuff has some level of apparent technical difficulty, which is something i'm personally very interested in, but was very unsure i was achieving with hoop yet.

re: zeitgeist argument - you should see the longer version i pm'ed to meg a while back... in fact, you will... biggrin
