I am trying to find some really good tribal kind of music. Kind of like polenesian drums or island drum music. There is a ton of techno and drum and base but I am looking for some real tribal kind of drums. I know there are many albums with digeridoo(sp?) but I am looking for something that is like a drum circle or shaman kind of stuff. Any recomendations? ThanksAvatar

There are lots, though not all are "island" sounding:- The Kodo Drummers (Japanese)- Mickey Hart's Planet Drum (Cross Cultural)- The Diga Rhythm Band (Cross Cultural)- Nexus (Cross Cultural)- Babatunde Olatunji (African)- Zakir Hussein (Indian Tabla)Of those, Babatunde and the Kodo are probably the most "tribal" sounding.

a bit of the topic but just recently found a cd of gregorian chants of popular songs, its only a new cd. some of them might sound a bit wierd and wonderful to do your thing by!!
