Been "twirling" since: i got my good-ol sand bags from some hippys in airley beach! if that description fits you feel free to say hi! however my very first time was on school camp in NZ in grade 6. I then started "spinning" when I went to the UK and got teased for saying "twirling"
Occupation: recently returned aid worker
Hobbies: rowing, writing, socialising, music, poi, staff, performing, juggling, languages, dancing, reading
Music: 60s, 70s, folk, indie,

She's a little young for HoP, yet Rougie! I let her post because I thought it might make her feel a little better. Came and got in bed with me last night for the first time in probably 5 years cause she was having nightmares. She's only 11! Way too young to be so concerned over whether her president is going to get her blown into tiny bits, but that is pretty much the way that she put it to me!

I don't want to leave permanently, I just want a vacation. And is it the country that wants everyone to believe that or that everyone wants to believe it because they want to hate the country.
One thing that I've discovered in studying superpowers, no one likes the ones in power. England, Germany, Russia, Rome, Greece, Egypt, Babylonia. Just take a look at the history, during their height in power they all were hated by the majority of the known world. It isn't until after they fall out of power that they are looked at with a less critical eye. Right now the world sees the US as the superpower, thus there is an automatic criticism.
Also, the assumption is that if you live in a country you buy into everything that the government mandates. This can be seen in the treatment of American tourists. Countries are more than willing to take our American dollar while, at the same time, condemning us, as individuals, based on the policies of our government. Is this fair? No. Has this happened before? Take a look at history and the superpowers of the past. Innocent people condemned because they live in a country and not because of their individual political beliefs.
Does it help to move out of the country you live in? Normally you take your country “tag” with you. Does it really work? Running away from a country’s problems? In this day and age I would say no because we are becoming more and more the “global village”. No longer can a country do something that doesn’t affect someone half way around the world (eg Koreans nuclear testing).
And what happens when the US falls from their superpower status? Who will take over? Who will be the next people to be criticized because their country is the new superpower and not because of what they have done personally.
OK … I’m off my soapbox now.
