Couldn't tell you... I know the Twin Cities here has a decently sized (and growing) spinning community.

Texas. That's a country in and of itself.

If Rick Perry has his way it will be again. Unfortunately, Oklahoma is completely and totally economically dependent on them, might wanna brush up on their national anthem in case.

lolwut?

I didn't understand a single bit of that

Anyways, I'm in Texas and it seems to be pretty popular here, I doubt it's the most popular in the US but it seems to be kind of big

I go to this bar every wednesday that is pretty much a congregation of local poi spinners/hippies alike and it gets pretty damn packed

Even in the short time I've been spinning I've noticed a large increase in people that all admit to having just started

Within the last year the local club that I started spinning at has gone from maybe one or two spinners to at least 8 to 12 every night

As for me I am in a town of 19,584 (yes I just looked at our current demographics) and I am the single only person that spins anything here. I have to drive about half an hour to 45 minutes to get to the closest person I could find. Or I could go about that time to the Detroit Fire Guild (circus performers) and there are about 220 fans of it and most are spinners from Michigan and most of the spinners in Michigan should know about that I would think. Because even my Electronic Media teacher knew about them.

The only luck is bad luck.

Shut up before I stall my poi up your ass grin

They are all just 'parties' hence the term 'party kid' wink And you must be super sheltered or in Houston, this thing has been going on in rusty warehouses and out of the way fields all along.

I started going to raves back in '94/'95... I use two phrases, "Rave" and "Sanctioned Rave": the first is your typical rusty warehouse/field rave the second is a "legal" rave, at some sort of venue (usually with security) and something that is pretty easy for people to find out about.

Refuge Crew is right though, they're all just parties.

I can say RSA is not the spinniest.

At least not above a level of a couple basic moves around here.

bren: Sadly, the informal settlement was not a constructed set, at least as far as I know. So yeah, you could see something similar.
