Well first off HI! Long time lurker here and would just like to thank you all for this amazing community. Now the reason why I finally registered and am posting!

Lately I've been working a lot with two things: Throws and Plane Shifting. Last night I decided why not combine the two? So imagine this... Your spinning in wheel plane(If I'm not mistaken thats your left or right side correct?) Anyways you perform a up stall and once the head is stalled; you take your handle and whip it around in wallplane catching it after one full revolution. Then catch and either continue in the same direction you were spinning before you stalled or switch directions in wheelplane. Sorry never been to great at explaining things, more of a practical spinner. I could show you guys though!

I doubt I'm the first to do this but I've never read anything on it. Any thoughts?

You are right in that it has come up somewhere before.

Thanks for reminding me though. Will see what I can come up with. smile

"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "Or you wouldn't have come here."

It definitely has. I'm more familiar with the variant that switches into horizontal plane as opposed to wheel. Ronan does them in this vid:

They are a lot of fun, especially to entertain an audience from multiple directions. Or even swinging out in wallplane then horizontal stall, horizontal spin throw and as the poi are spinning turn around switch hands. Adds a nice dynamic to it I believe.

starting from anything like a weave or butterfly, bring one poi up in a pendulum, once it reaches horizontal, throw the handle out to one side, so the poi rotates in the horizontal plane.. you can catch into any plane, but my personal preference is to continue for a little with that poi in horizontal, and the other in wheel or wall..

you can then perform a stall and pull back out into whatever suits you.

the things ive mostly been experimenting whether/how you change plane when you throw it, whether/how you change plane when you catch it, whether the throw is spin or antispin.

you can also find you can cycle through all planes in one throw depending on where in the spin you catch the poi, and how you pull out of it. you can throw from wheel plane, into horizontal plane, then catch it into wall plane.. the possibilities are amazing!

hope this helps, if you've any more questions, please, do ask smile
