I've been on HoP since '05 but have never introduced myself here so as a means of procrastination, I thought I'd actually say hi properly
Name: Geo (aka Chris)
Location: At the moment i'm in Whyalla, South Australia
Hometown: ummm, I grew up in and around Canberra but Perth feels like home
Birthday (sign?): Pisces
Age: 29
Sex: male
Occupation(s): Geologist
Favorite Food(s): cake
Favorite Color(s): green
What is the wing speed of an unladen swallow? african or european swallow?
Toys: mostly poi, staff and rope dart
Hobbies other than the obvious: does going to the pub count?
Education: a degreee in geology
Favorite Book(s): Hitchhikers Guide to the galaxy, Foundation, darwin award books
Favorite Movie(s): Pi, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, The Matrix (original not the crap sequels)
Godzilla vs. a Star Wars Star Destroyer. Who wins? Why? if ewok's can bring down the empire (granted with a little help) then a little star destroyer has no chance against godzilla!
Favorite TV show(s): How I met your mother, spicks and specks (an australian music quiz/variety show for the uninitiated), Top Gear and the simpsons
Plans for life in general: (i.e. what you want to do when you grow up)
what is this grow up thing? I'd like to move back to perth in a year or so but I don't really know what I want to do once I've had enough of this job (usually takes 18 months) let alone when I "grow up"
Favorite Music Artists/Composers: anything that makes me turn the sound up to 11 and dance, sing and generally look like an idiot
Do you think these pants make my butt look too big? yes, but you had no butt before so that's a good thing!
Favorie ice cream flavor(s): vanilla
Marmite, Vegemite, or Nutella? I might be Australian, but even I think marmite and vegemite are wierd so Nutella wins!

at the moment the market for exploration geos in aus is pretty crap. there seems to quite a few mine geo jobs going tho but that's to be expected in a recession
