Okay, i'm looking for a nickname,

try down the side of the sofa wink

it's quite hard for people who don't know you very well, My nicknames were always thought up by my closest friends / people I saw a lot of as they did know most about me so could give relevence to the name. although most were based on my appearance and I know your picture doesn't look much like you from what's been said on the play thread..

A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.

i didnt really like the nicknames i had at school, i was mainly called lou-lou (cause my name is louisa) but now i get called pinky or kitty ha ha smile pinky because ive got black and pink hair (and i love pink!) and kitty because i've got an obsession with hello kitty!
maybe your nickname could come from a part of your personality? you tend not to make up your own nicknames, they are what your nearest and dearest make up for you. see if they have any suggestions, after all, they know you best! x

I used to really not like Nigel (there were many cliché Nigels in sitcoms, either as camp hairdressers or as ineffectual bankers), and for a while I went under other names, but then I made a conscious move to reclaim Nigel for my own, which worked just fine (the pink... part came from other people distinguishing me from other juggling Nigels by the colour of my juggling kit, and that's kinda stuck, which I don't mind at all), so if I were you I'd set about reclaiming your real name for yourself cos it doesn't suck really, not once you've made it you own...

Failing that, go with "Wibble", cos it's what you make (straight) boys do.. wink

A wise man once said: "You have two ears and one mouth, therefore you should shut the censored up and listen" (though, to be fair, he might not've put it _quite_ like that..)

Mmm, omg the wonderous memories of fried cheese! It was about the only good thing they made in my high school cafeteria...which is saying something as Legacy was supposed to have the best food in the district. Kinda like compairing prison food if you ask me. Anyway, oh those were some good goden-fried delicious times!

As for the original topic...I don't believe nicknames need to be given. Back when I was doing pole and burlesque performance, we just named ourselves in the grand tradition of drag queen (ex: Fannie Spankings) names or picked parts of our personas to showcase in out names. I for one was "Cristal Couvee" to flash my classiness (Cristal, like the champagne) and my mixture of dance training. (Couvee, it's a french wine word meaning "blend") I used wine words to also represent my passion for wine.

Oh that's good too!
Here in Nottingham we have a german marketplace in town every Christmas. Last year, they had a stall selling nothing but cheese! ubblove So good!

Actually, the best thing they were selling were deep fried red chillis stuffed with feta! *drool*

I noticed that as well Mynci.

I got my nicname from my real name (oddly enough).

When I was younger I hated my real name, but now I love it for the exact same reasons I hated it.
Steaky came from a guy I used to work with getting bored and doing some word play. Steak n' Ale ended up sticking and getting shortened to Steaks/Steaky which I have been using for about 6 years now.
I agree with what Nigel said about having to reclaim your real name and work with that. hug
