ur looking at somthing like they use in the planetarium or whatever there called. I suppose its possible to do it off one projector but you would have to have a wide angle lense and a very deep pit.... um personaly i would probebly get 4 projectors running off 4 laptops of whatever and then assign each laptop a bit of what being shown thats the easyist way to do it i dont think it poss to run it off one lead because its one signal sent though a vga cable

At the SOMA festival in Koln 2006 there were a wonderful tent roof projections in the circus tent after Lemme's show just like you are describing. Apparently seamless visuals with good resolution over a curved space. I just looked up the program and they were called Radient Lightclub. (that's how they spelled it).



Here's a link to an English translation of their website It reads like typical artwank gobbledook but their visuals are better than their writing! There are contact details on the site so perhaps you can persuade them to share their knowledge/spend some time working with them.

Unless you've got a really expensive projector you can have trouble getting the whole image in focus, as with the projectors above head hight, the projection surface isn't a uniform distance away, and it's not really feasable to have the projectors on the floor in the center of the dome. The alternative is to back project onto the outside of the dome. For that you'd need a lot of cable, and some big poles to stick the projectors on (and probably some weatherproofing).

You can use VGA splitters if you want one computer to send the same output to more than one projector (they come in 2, 4 or 8 out from one in). If you just use Y cables then the signal voltage is split between the projectors, so the brightness is lower (doable for just 2 with the brightness turned up to compensate). If you use composite then the hardware and cables are a lot cheaper, but the signal degrades more than VGA, so you can start getting static coming through.

There's a Mac VJing program called Modul8 that can run 7 projectors and one preview monitor off one computer, and you can tile them how you want. Great if you have about £15,000 for a top spec Mac, 3 extra graphics cards, 7 projectors and a 30" monitor to see all the previews at once.

You aren't thinking or really existing unless you're willing to risk even your own sanity in the judgment of your existence.
