Hi to all you twirlers and HoP lovers!

I'm Malcolm's latest addition to the HoP family with my first day of work here at HoP today (Mon 16th Oct 06) and I see lots of fun ahead (as well as a huge learning curve)! I am totally new to poi so I hope I don't make too many dumb comments!

A bit about me then:

George McNeur, male, age... "enough"!

Family: wife Heather, 3 boys 12, 13, & 15.

Location - Christchurch, NZ.

working career: Electronics Engineering - 15yrs RNZAF, 6 yrs in Test/Manufacturing and 6.5 yrs network products R&D.

You can find out a teensy bit more about me/what I've done at these sites:

https://kiwisoldier.150m.com/now.htm#george

https://kiwionice.150m.com/

and my current main interest outside of work and family: https://aotearoakendo.150m.com/

So, looking forward to the journey, and meeting all you guys 'n girls.

cheers

George

your first one isn't a very convincing pirate Gnor...

Ooh and that reminds me of a bit of a documentary about pirates - they said how Blackbeard undertook the first recorded instance of "Corporate Downsizing" in American history when he ran his boat aground good and hard off NC coast and transferred only the treasure and his most favourite best buddies onto the other lighter ships and left the others there for the sea sherrif who was in hot pursuit! Maybe that's the boat they found??

PS, Heather almost completely removed my mo last night in the haircutting marathon. We ahve new zizzer things and they seem to have a shorter cut than the old set used to so it's the closest she's come to seeing my top lip nekkid! She went all giggly and said I looked "young" *pouts*...

If I'm not mistaken, I believe you would be right about the ship, George...he ran the Queen Anne's Revenge aground to escape from the authorities that had, up till that time...pretty much been in cahouts with him...he was in quite tight with the mayor of Bath...was even considered 'respectable' for a period of time...we do have some colourful history in this state...

Rougie, I agree with you...much better pirate...

yeah, but according to the documentary, he ran it aground more as an opportunity to get more treasure share by having less crew to divide it amongst. He supposedly let the authorities get close to them but not too close - close enough to have enough time to unload his ship and get away but not to let the rest of the crew he abandonded on the run aground ship. I reckon you have to be ok at it to have your name though.

Whomping searches just bring up willow..damn HP.

If Rouge is playing how does that affect the cool kids?? wink
plus I doubt my age warrants inclusion in the "kids" category!! biggrin

I briefly saw the thread about it and wondered, but didn't see the website. My wife plays a similar online game (well, it's swords and magic & stuff but less humour than that!) and has tried to steer me onto it too but I get no time. *le sigh*
It looks a hoot though! might have to see if I can make a bit of time to try it.

Don't do video games...they make me dizzy...literally...especially walk thru's...just like being sea sick...and I don't really get sea sick...but I'd be glad to whomp someone over the head...

I like taking empty 2 liter soda bottles and whomping my kids over the head...doesn't hurt them, but it makes such a satisfying 'thwack' sound...
