Name: John Freeman

Location: (On the southern edge of Gods Country) Sterling (No not Sterling Hghts) Michigan, USA

Hometown: Owosso, Michigan

DOB: 03/10/52 (10/03/52 as I quickly learned on my trip to Germany for my birthday this last March when customs said that my form didn't have the same date as my passport. Lucky I didn't end up in prison there huh?? (That statement will be understood in a minute))

Age: Let me see..... 06 - 52 = (-46???) I can't figure how it comes out to 54, must be the new math stuff ubbidea

Sex: I'm married??? hug I'm the male half

Occupation(s): Would you believe I spend a lot of time in a Maximum Security Prison??? I stand corrected or is that I am a Corrections Officer. How about I side line as a corrected comedian??? Naaahhh I actually run a Hydroponic Garden Center or I should say it runs me

Favorite Food(s): Italian, Mexican, Chinese, American

Favorite Color(s): Blue, Gray, Silver

Toys: No Poi or spinning toys yet (they are on the way). Computers (10) Ham Radios (5) "The only difference between men and boys is the size and the price of their toys" (I think my wife said that)

Hobbies other than the obvious: Computers;Amateur Radio (Extra Class Licensee N8ZE);Revolutionary War Artillery Reenactment (Both American and British colors have been flown by our group)

Education: 4 yar of college in Management and Countin.

Favorite Book(s): Can't think of any right now but I can guarantee that none on the list would be my college text books

Favorite Movie(s): Star Trek; Star Wars;Top Gun;Sands of Iwo Jima (The Duke of course)

Favorite TV show(s): Now I really have to date myself. Do not watch much now but like Star Gate; loved Star Trek (Original of course)

Plans for life in general: (i.e. what you want to do when you grow up) Retirement after I grow up which is March 1st, 2008. I plan on getting the big parole. Is their life after work??? You betcha there is. wink

Favorite Music Artists/Composers: Love (why does everyone call it this???) Oldies from 60 to late 70's. Elton John, Simon & Garfunkel, Moody Blues. Love Jazz and R&B but not much for keeping up with the artists.

Favorie ice cream flavor(s): Mackinaw Island Fudge (what else would you expect from a Michigander) and Butter Pecan

Marmite, Vegemite, or Nutella? (please choose one...this is important as it is essentially this site's equivalent of stating your religion...we have religious wars, crusades, cathedrals to Nutella, all that.) Got my first taste of Nutella in Germany (my wife brought back 6 jars of it from there) so it has to be Nutella.

JT, Pat is right. The HoPpers down there will help, they are the bestest. And you HAVE to make a moonfest, it was one of the highlights of my trip.

Aw Gidg, you already been there?? Actually, I have been to Aussie land twice before. The first time was in ???? (1971) for 4 days R&R. Don't remember where I was, where I stayed or how I got there!! hehe Crazy wild 19 year old Marine trying to fit life (and a lot of pints, qts., gallons, kegs) into a few days. The second time was in 1977 and I was in I believe it was Sydney for 1 night. Flew in from Okinawa in a military leer jet assigned to the CG 1st Marine Aircraft Wing. His flight crew had to get in air hours, so they took a hop to Australia for overnight. Found a nice bar just outside the airport and they had real good drinks there. Went with them 4 times to Korea, but that is a whole different story that shouldn't be on a PG posting rolleyes

Pat, your right about it being "complicated". It is also more than that, it is a royal pain in the tush. But, the wifey is excited about the possibility of going somewhere else again. Took her to Germany last March for 2 weeks to see our German Exchange Daughter.

Yep, I went there for four weeks back in 2005. First time I had ever been out of the country just for myself. Couldn't have picked a better place.

Next trip ... UK! But I'm still saving up for that one.

I was fortunate that while in the service I visited just about every country in the world (and there were at least 2 that I really could have done without then) at least once if not more than once. Sadly, most of my visits are remembered just about as well as my visit to Australia. I had the best of all of it. I got to cruise around the caribean and lounge on the beaches. Beautiful sunny south america, the mediteraenean (sp.), sunny beautiful south east asia, europe, scandinavia and of course the beautiful islands of hawaii and the always popular states of california, north carolina, florida and I guess all of them!! wave
