I'm new to poi. I started learning over a month ago but don't get to practice much. Also, there doesn't seem to be anyone else in Memphis that spins poi so I don't have anyone to work/play with.
I just made my own set of poi today and will be posting about it on the tech forum once I get some pictures to link to.
Other than that I'm just copy/pasting the intro template. Here goes:
Name: Leif
Location: Memphis, TN
Hometown: I'm a military brat. Born in San Diego, but lived all over the place.
DOB: 5/11/77
Age: ?? look above and do the math. :P
Sex: Male
Occupation(s): Grain industry. I work at a wheat/soy/corn storage facility anywhere from 40-90 hrs a week. Great money, crap for social life.
Favorite Food(s): Chinese, Sushi, doritos, venison, Italian, Greek... just about anything edible really. Except coconut. I can't stand that!!
Favorite Color(s): Black & Royal Purple
Toys: Musical instruments, poi, video games
Hobbies other than the obvious: composing and performing music.
Education: not enough... some college
Favorite Book(s): Stranger in a Strange Land, Zen & the Art of Motorcycle Maintainance, Pricipia Discordia
Favorite Movie(s): too many... Immortal Beloved, Police Story, Ghost in the Shell to name just a few
Favorite TV show(s): Family Guy, Invader Zim
Plans for life in general: (i.e. what you want to do when you grow up) Build a log cabin, raise lamb and chicken for dinner along with a variety of garden produce, and tour the world with a financially viable death metal band... yeah, prolly never gonna happen but I can dream, can't I?! :P
Favorite Music Artists/Composers: Beethoven... and a whole bunch of death/black metal bands (Emperor, Behemoth, Origin, Dimmu Borgir, Opeth, etc.)
Favorie ice cream flavor(s): B & J's "From Russia with Buzz"
Marmite, Vegemite, or Nutella? (please choose one...this is important as it is essentially this site's equivalent of stating your religion...we have religious wars, crusades, cathedrals to Nutella, all that.) Hah! I'll have to go with Nutella since I've never heard of the other two. Nutella is pretty good!

CUDDLY...................................i'm violent and aggressive, the scum of socioty........... i got to partys that mean old people cant take their dogs to crap in it's usual place, and upsett and worry locals about property damage and theft
