Oddly, I'll be the first to welcome C@ntus to what I've noticed is his recent Moderatorhood. Does this mean there will be a change in the posting habits or Mr. C?

It's always refreshing to see such esteemed and respected HoPers such as yourselves dragging the thread off topic before I even get here.
I've been helpful and fair all day. And Malcolm helped me with my Doozer avatar too which was really good.

My initial post sumed up my intent. I wanted to welcome you and ask if you intended to be an impartial, subjective moderator (rather than an opinionated biased poster like myself). Something that both you and I clearly feel is important. You've answered with a clear resounding "Yes"... which gives me some comfort as I, for some reason, have vested interest in this lovely little board.
Clearly opinions differ as to the purpose of moderation and I'm glad to see that YOUR and MY definitions seem to be consistant. Which, of course, was... my point.

C@ntus, it's not so much a matter of "noticing" your megalomania. It's about as subtle as an elephant in a pink tu-tu and ballet slippers.

(For the seventh time) PLEASE DON"T USE MY NAME ONLINE AS I"VE GOT STUDENTS WHO READ THIS FORUM AND I WOULD PEFER TO REMAIN ANONOMOUS. (Please go back and censor my name!) I know I've told that to everyone that I've introduced myself to and many others as well. It sounds stupid and it's embarassing but it's a decision that I've made. I never use my name online after an internet incident with a kid and it'd be great if others could refrain from it as well...
As for being a moderator? Yeah, I thought of that when I first signed on about a year ago. Then I realized how hellish that would actually be. I would never allow myself to give an opinion if I'd became a moderator. As a teacher we are taught philosophy of effective moderation and such, how to deescalate disagreements, how to remain unbias, etc, etc, etc... To heck with that! Moderation for 40+ hours a week is enough for me! Besides, nobody offers to make someone who doesn't ask to be a moderator.
[Scratches head and tries to figure out if Smallboy was being condesending or genuine. The "for months now" sounds pretty condesending but whatever...]
