well i know there is, so Doc Lightning i hope you're reading this cos its intended for you. Ok i have a Pilonidal Sinus, and my aprents keep asking wtf it is, and i dunno how to explain it, so could you explain it so i can show em please?? also if you know anything about the operation involved, it would be much appreciated, cos i have no idea what they are gonna do to my back

and the peeping noise in your ear is tinittus. sinus is your nasal head area, that hurts when you have flu. but i wouldnt say it relates to vamps back problem

Basically, it's thought that during development the neural tube that forms the spinal cord by pinching off from the back may not quite pinch completely off on the surface down near the top of the crease of the buttocks (the butt crack). And so it leaves a little cavity in there.
Pilonidal cysts form most commonly in young men as they grow body hair and a hair gets introduced into the sinus and creates a nidus of infection. That causes an abscess (a pocket of pus) that is insanely tender.
I know because I had to have one drained myself.
After incision and drainage, one third never recur. Two thirds do. I got lucky (8 years later and nothing...).
The cure is to excise the area and then sew it back together. It's a tiny little site, the size of a couple of postage stamps. Once you take it out, it heals up and generally never bothers you again.

I am at a Theatre Festival this summer and the artistic director is Roger Reese (The Sheriff of Rottingham in "Robin Hood Men in Tights) and he was a member a the RSC for years and once was doing a show with Laurence Olivier, it was a new play and apparently horrid-- but one night during the show Laurence, in the middle of a scene with some cute young actress, walks to the edge of the stage a blocks the light with his hand so he can see the audience and calls out "Is there a doctor in the house?" and a man stand up in the back and says that he is a doctor, to which Laurence replies "Isn't this a terrible play Doctor?" The doctor agreed and then Laurence reentered the scene and finished the show.
And now back to our regularly schedualled forum...

I think you should see a doctor in real life before asking on here!
Seriously, if you're ill/concerned enough to ask on the internet to people you don't know and therefore don't know how reliable a source they are, you really should go see your GP who has access to your medical records and can prescribe you medicene/treatment if needed.
