I did a search to try and find info but i got no luck. if you can prove me wrong id be happy.

I live in Aus and i would luuuuuuuv to find where i can buy some single pole stilts, not like the ones for plasterers/buliders n such. any info is greatly apprieciated.

There are about 5 or 6 sites with instructions on how to make your own. It is not hard and not terribly expensive, plus you will at least have them fit (sometimes when you buy them, they don't fit correctly).

Why weld? Unless you plan on using aluminum to make them.

You can make peg stilts out of wood just as easily, no welding required, and they do hold up. Just be choosey about your wood (no knots, a mid-grade hardwood, etc.).

thats true, i had a look at a few sites and most of em have wood. i'll prob end up using wood, it'd suck if they broke on me though.

I've just fininshed overhauling a six foot pair of peg stilts, two years old now, all wooden build, if you can get hold of it, use Douglas Firn for the downtubes, recomend about 2" square, decent quality wood glue, and pre drill you screw holes, I cast the leg in glass fibre, using my legs as moulds, but alluminium bent around a former works well enough.
