hey all, am based in cape town (south africa) & am kinda hoping that by being present here, as well as meeting more ct ppl who play i'll be able to further myself in the many techniques that are shared here. although i dont think at present i have much to contribute: have been playing fire now for about a year and am very comfortable wit da staff (always been spinning stick-like-things since i was a littler kid), just got onto poi about 4 months ago - have got da basics & as i say..just seeing what goes on here in terms of exchange. loved DJ Dantanas videos of nexus' and 'butterfly tangles'!! anyhoo, let's see where this takes us - im out for tonight. got a trance party on the weekend to prepare for. i usually lug through a stall to sell giant pancakes (crepes) to the hungry, appreciative masses

Ahh but my screen name is only because when i first joined me and my mate didn't know what to call ourselves, she had a set of pink flags, i had a set of pink poi. Therefore i became Pink Poi she became Pink Flags. Over the years i have dropped my "poi" bit to the name and added ...?

hmmm...spose i should try and be more "real time" with these forum postings :P just had a hectic week, having to do an essay for varsity then str8 off to a 3day trance party. was so tiring i only played fire once.

to continue... i thort i wld just ramble on a bit about recent things: i got a cold on thursday evening. am only getting over it nw. havent been sick in 3 years before this! suxorz, hey? am hoping monday is good weather cos then it's over to clifton beach on the otha side of the peninsula for a weekly fire gathering. check, what do you guys think about this: one of our weekly fire practise sessions have become a friggin tourist attraction (almost). i bin going for just over a year nw, and its just unbelievable how it's blown up. on this little beach we have about 200-300 people...and of course the drummers always attract the cops and get us thrown off. anyhoo mah brain is nt working 100% atm, so pls excuse the trip-out
