So here I am again. It's been a while hasn't it. My alto sax initially got a lot of use. Funny isn't it, how a fulltime job takes away all your spare time. Haven't had any time to poi too, apart from Jugglejam on Mondays and the monthly Moonfests. And even then, it somehow seems I tend to play with the stockwhip instead of poi shrug

Another lens has been added to the stable too. A Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5.. nice and wiide. But it all boils back down to that time issue. Despite having the new lens, I seem to find I'm out taking less pictures.. the folio hasn't been updated in a while, and I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm stagnating. Must. Get out of this rut.

If you're my muse and reading this, inspiration needed now. hug

-Edited 14 Dec 2005-

I liken this to opening the fridge to find that jar of misc what's it, several months expired ubblol. Hey how's it going? wave

So what's new! Well.. poi's getting a bit better for one thing. Nice how after poi-ing for a while, you stop hitting yourself senseless. In fact, one might argue how after a certain point, each hit puts more sense into you.. wink Haven't gone skating or rockclimbing in a bit, but that's ok- life's full of wonderful distractions, and really, you can only do a couple at a time.

University's just wrapped up! Yep. A degree in art & visual culture, television & digital media.. Just waiting for a piece of paper at the moment (yay!). And trying to sort out how Australia will let me live here forever and ever biggrin. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is, you so ought to visit *nudge* wink Also been getting out the with photography and stuff- a couple of projects to follow up on, blue skies and puffy clouds as far as I can see.

Updates updates. [insert geek] I've updated my camera gear too.. my 20D, 17-85 4-5.6 IS and 580EX now have a 70-200 2.8L IS to play with.. soon too, riding on getting a particular gig, either a 350D and a 24-105 f4 IS, or another 20D.. -grin- [/end geek]

[edit 14/12/05: Gig didn't go through, and ended up performing at it instead of shooting it ubblol Life has a funny way of messing you about doesn't it.. so no 2nd body for me just yet, or nice 24-105 f4 IS redface]

Been taking lots of photos lately. I think there's something intrinsically beautiful in capturing moments- you know how you look at a photo and it brings you back to where you were that day, who you were with, how the air smelt even.. Maybe one day I'll get to exhibit ubblove.. but yeah.. lots of work to be done meantime.

Hmmmm.. yes the world's beautiful today. It's good to have new toys, new moves, new direction.. old friends hug.. a best friend hug2, and enough distractions not to get bored for too long.

Btw.. favourite words haven't changed.. ubbrollsmile And mm.. I'm still not too close to balletic, and dulcet..

Hmm.. la la la laaa squawk.. footinmouth

[edit 14/12/05: I now have a beautiful alto saxophone- the best use of which I have thus far found, is to attract ducks and other misc waterfowl]

Yep, how about we say still aspiring. biggrin

Hope all's well with everyone- don't be strangers now! hug biggrin

I've been exploring this site a bit lately, and have decided everyone seems like a nice bunch- thought it's about time I said hello. Ryan, 24, born in Singapore, but Brisbane Australia has been home to me for the past 3 years.

I love photography, playing the guitar (if one took a picture of me with my guitar, it looks like I'm playing it- does that count?), getting from point A to B on my trusty mountain bike, inline skating and hockey, occasionally rockclimbing, and just being in good company. I'd also like to add poiing to the list when I stop hitting myself senseless.

Irrelevantly, my two favourite words (I've got heaps if anyone's interested) are 'balletic' and 'dulcet'. 'Balletic', unfortunately, isn't a word I'd use to describe anything I can do, and 'dulcet' is a word I haven't dreamt of aspiring towards yet.

Enough for now, don't be strangers! biggrin

I thought that was so typical though ubblol Hey, most people are snapping turtles getting ungodly-hour wake up calls. The Whitlams were on sunrise today? Ack. Didn't know. Though. Having seen Tim live in the mall, I think I'll survive to their gig in May biggrin

I like the word concur..it's just so nice to say ubblove Not sure if you watched Catch Me If You Can with Leonardo Di Caprio and Chistopher Walken, but there was a scene where Leo was impersonating a doctor, and the only 'medical' word he knew was 'concur'- he went on to concur with everything I though it was hilarious. ubblol

Dodgy postage stamps? As I recall, they looked like normal stamps to me, what are you talking about.. ubbangel Actually.. I'm not sure I looked too closely- had the urge to move on..

Greetings from the bay- Hervey Bay's looking excellent at the moment- went clubbing yesterday, first Beach House then Peppers (wanted to go to Seven, but apparently the curfew getting in was 1am), then went to the beach and firetwirled til about 4 in the morning when the rain came in. Today was sunny, and brilliant overall- not a hint of rain and blue hazeless skies til the horizon. The boys decided to do a spot of fishing, and had a few tiny stripeys, but not good eating so all got to go back (or it could have been the same fish over and over and over again. Maybe he had a deathwish.. shrug) Just came back and had a shower.. taking it easy for now, might go for a swim later. Looking forward to the party. For now.. need to find me a drink wink

gita: Yeah the cyclone's off Fraser, but it's looking like it's really not that much of a problem. Sorry to leave the house in a mess- was in a bit of a rush heading out! hug

Lou: Drunk? Me? ubbangel The getting drunk bit's ok- the hangovers are kinda sucky. Might go waterskiing tomorrow, but depending on hangovers wink Being too drunk's never fun anyway- need to be with it enough to appreciate the hilarity of other drunk people biggrin Do you concur? hug

Gnor: Of course! Wouldn't miss Miss Arquette for some silly thing I have to do at uni.. ubblove wink

andrea: Hilarity! biggrin I like paucity muchly.. It's so nice to say in a slightly drawn out manner. Veracity I like, but again.. the context it's in- they usually refer to its contended nature shrug Any new word projects lately? hug

bounce2 *wheeeee!bounce proposal for book of erotic crosswords sent off to the publishers.

So thats probably why words are popping out of my brain like this, or into it as the case may be...ubblol

Also working on another * still top secret* project --if I told you I would have to kill ya wink It involves words/spelling too. Most of that one is still in the planning /logistics stage. A certain brilliant very talented Poi guy in the UK is helping me figure out the structural plastic engineering aspect, thankfully. Then we shall see... But I will reserve one of the first pairs for you!

Aside from that, all well. Sorta. Hands not working so well again:( , it comes and goes. A bit scary. So will have to stop typing a while, that seems to really aggravate things. When Nick gets back, Im going to get him to help me select a new computer I can run voice programming on...Neat!:D

Hows you? Sounds good, waterskiing makes me so jealous..Still pretty chilly here. I like the sounds of your end of the world, must get out to visit that way next year!

Big hugs your way!

Gnor: ubblol I saw 'Ms Dubois' and the first thing tha comes to mind is Mrs Durbs, and got lost for a second.. Ms Dubois' hubby is a bit frustrating though. I mean, he knows she's got some inexplicable psychic power, but every episode he's all surprised and skeptical again mad2 House is pretty watchable too, but it's no Medium.. or Ed.. or Gilmore Girls wink hug

Sam: Free food and lodging's always good- my top reason for visiting the folks. biggrin How'd your birthday go? hug Job hunting- slow.. sent another application out today, for one I REALLY want. Crossing my fingers, but it's looking like a bit of a long shot.. shrug What can ya do but hope eh?

andrea: Hehe a friend was telling me about this other thing which reminds me of what you're describing. It was a staff which spelt words as it was spun. Same like those things you put on bicycle spokes to make them write words as the wheels turn. Trippy I thought smile Did play with the idea of spinning them, but they are a bit heavy..

Hands not working eek? What happened? Hope everything's ok.. hug

Didn't end up going skiing, the squall was a bit strong (though the weather was otherwise beautiful), but did get to just swim in the bay, which was beautiful ubblove

Word of the day:
pseudapostle: A person who pretends to be an apostle. ubblol Came from a book of interesting words Lou gave me.. some of the entries.. *shakes head* ubblol

Jean: Job-hunting.. still no luck frown You'd think I'd come back refreshed, but I came back tired and a bit out of it. Guess that's what a big weekendcan do to you. Need to get motivated and actually do stuff this week.. hug

Lou: Yep.. well, weather held up, but somehow you never think wind and tide are weather as well ubblol Oh well. Was a beautiful weekend and was spoilt with copious amounts of fantastic canapes! One of the best ones was nectarines marinated in balsamic vinegar for a day, topped with mascarpone cheese and wrapped with prosciutto.. omg.. ubblove I bet you'd have loved it..

Hope uni's going well, and you're not getting too overworked.. hug

Btw, any news of what happened in the city? Have been browsing a couple of news sites and the tiser but haven't seen any news yet.. confused

I generally play US$30 tournaments, against 19 others. Pays 1st to 5th and 1st is US$210.

A big one, I'd say $60-100 buyin, against 700+ people, you're lookin at about 5/6K for 1st.

That happens, I'll come buy you a drink.

Well, quite. Which is why I rarely play the big ones, the little ones are easier to win. Hehe. Stupid americans.

I play the big ones now and again, and I'm getting closer each time. Came 45th of 609 last night. Won $45 for a $15 buy in. Annoyingly close to the $2200 first prize.

You play?
