A few questions to all you uk folk over there as i am possibly moving to the UK within the month on a working holiday visa and i'd like to know these things to help me make an informed decision, all sorts of complications but that's ok.
I would like some idea on
a) how many hours do you work a week
b) how much you earn a week
c) how much of your £ is already spent a week, bills etc.
I hope to be able to save to do many more fun travelling things so anyone who could give me any idea on this is a legend. And if you want to meet up when i'm over to have a play that would aslo be awesome

a) The UK average is 35 or 37.5 hours a week (9-5 or 9-5.30 with 1 hour lunch)
b) Depends what you're doing
c) Depends where you're living
The minimum hourly wage is ummmmm £3.68 (I think) which would be £130-odd a week if that's any help.

As for the questions though:
1) 37.5 / week (about 10 hours excluding time spent on HOP)
2) £250
3) I think I pay about 50% on bills etc.
Unless you have a needed skill in England (I.e. you’re a nurse) then I guess you'll start of on a fairly basic job (no more than £5 / hour).
I wouldn't want to live on this much AND have to rent a house, so as bairie fen said sharing is a good idea.

I work around 20 hours a week and get paid £6/hour. My rent is £200 a month for a flat, and bills are about £100/month - not including travel costs and food.
Travel and food are expensive. Most of my money goes on bills of one kind or another, because i only work part time (I'm a full time student as well)
It's expensive to live here!

Thankyou all very much for the response so far. I'm not 100% sure on my living arrangements as yet but i have some family who i've not met before who i think may be able to help me out a bit.
So i may be going to Estonia on the 8th to make my visa application at the UK embassy there. Should be a bit of fun, nice and cold perhaps

Well the cousin of my grandmother lives in Worthing, West Sussex, and my Dad's cousin lives in London, and they may be able to help me out with something, i'm not entirely sure yet.
I'll pay for my Estonian Air flight on Tuesday.

If I were you Id move to London asap. The juggle crew is well cool, and make the rent/costs worthwhile. After all - would you rather live on a pitance but ahve a cool time or woudl you rather live on slightly more but have to pay 20quid each time you want to go to a juggle event? I got a job over there for 6quid an hour (35 hours / week) and had no problem living in Manc @ 50quid a week by 3 occupants in a 3 bedroom spacious flat and saving enough to do almost anything we wanted to. the rent would be higher for the same flat, but I dont reckon youd need a flat like that if you were only staying for less than a year.
