HELP! I just can't seem to get the tangle down. I've got the poi spinning in the right direction (I think, I'm using the spherculism.com video). But I can't seem to keep the tangle, my poi just stop when they tangle... I can't get them to keep moving.
I'm sure I'm doing it all wrong... 
oOps!
Any help would be greatly apreciated!

there isnt a 'right' direction, any or both ways will work.
so try the other way, you might find it easier, you might not? and apart from that just keep tangling them up and eventually you should start to feel them beginning to work. be gentle.
