Hey

My name's Kat

I'm 21 and from a lovely city of Edinburgh (possibly the best city in Scotland)

I'm currently a student doing a health care course that would take far too much explaining and you'd still not understand what it was when I'd finished.

I did fire swinging for a couple of years (but very basic unskilled stuff) with a youth project I helped run when I was about 16 however after reading all the fire safety and stuff we probably shouldn't have been allowed anywhere near it! biggrin

Haven't done any for a while with being at uni but saw some chains on sale on ebay and remembered how much fun I'd had with it in the past, did a google search and well... here I am. With a long summer ahead of me I guessed now was a good time as any to start again.

Unfortunately at the moment I'm the biggest fire hazard you could meet so I don't think I'll be using fire until things are sorted and I'm less of a hazard.

Anything else anyone wants to know feel free to pry though I may decide not to answer if you're too personal! smile

My summer officially has started.... biggrin

That wouldn't be a mild dig at me would it? I thought we'd discussed the "not taking the piss out of Kat" thing.... tongue

Oh, all the fun people left early did they Mike?
ha!

meg, NYC and molly were there til last (not that I was spinning fire but given the circumstances I think that was for the best)

and how could meeting NYC fail to be shocking Kat? He says "homie" and everything!

Not fail to be shocking, just less shocking than Jo not running at Mike. But now I know he says "homie" and everything, maybe I should retract the statement about being less shocking wink

Face it, Mike obviously thinks you guys aren't fun tongue either that or he thinks I don't think you're fun as he was telling me all the fun people left, which wouldn't be true... now I'm confused ubbrollsmile

She's back a week on Sunday (or a week saturday night if she's lucky) so she can go and hit doctors and stuff. Then she goes back home again on the thursday until the following thursday when she returns to hand in her stupid resit assignment. Busy, busy, busy, but at least she's working!

She also wonders why she is refering to herself in third person. Maybe she's gone mad....

So basically a week on monday, possibly....

does she know how that's going just now?

did she get any advice on it?

She spoke to the lecturer that failed her and his useful advice was that she's completely misunderstood what collectivism is and how it's applied to welfare. For her to get a better grade and pass, she has to stop being thick and write a good essay! So basically it's going very slowly for her and she's spending lots of time reading stupid big books on stuff she doesn't understand in the slightest.

However she's managing to not let this drive her crazy by refering to herself in the third person that way she can pretend it's not her having to redo the stupid thing!

has she pestered other course people about whatever it was that she didn't (apparantly) understand?

She asked other people who had passed. They read hers and couldn't see anything that they thought was wrong. she'd covered the same topics as them, structured it in the same way and gone into the same issues. Because they couldn't see anything wrong they can't give any advice as to how to improve.

Katrina also cannot keep up the third person talk anymore. I've got until the end of the month and I've carted home a load of books so hopefully I'll manage it. Only need to improve it by 10 marks (or %)

Woohoo! biggrin My "day" has changed from Monday's. Also I just have to say... my dad is great. biggrin He got me parafin and let me burn even though he knows that my mum would freak out if she found out. Really really want her to see me spin though frown

Aparently I haven't to get into the habit of playing with fire though. Technically though, if I drank once a week I wouldn't have a habit, yeah? So if I play with fire once a week, then surely that's not me getting into a habit? ubbrollsmile

No! No! Kat. Get in the habit would be spinning fire every night when you don't get paid for it. You would be able to get away with 3 or 4 times a week before it could be termed as a habit. biggrin

As long as I'm down by Sunday morning at the latest I should be fully recovered and safe (well as safe as I can be, which isn't very) for Monday night. Will be dragging Jen along probably, although she does the whole.... "is this really wise you playing with fire?" thing. No, it's not wise but do I really care?

ubbrollsmile

HOWEVER, if I haven't gone down by Sunday you sensible safety conscious people who really don't want to see me become a ball of flame or anything MUST NOT let me play!

The stupid collectivism essay is still not going anywhere... ah well, I can always redo the whole module next year! smile

we wouldn't do that to you...

I only try to kill you by anaphylaxis... burning wouldn't be as entertaining.

but you'll be out regardless of whether you're playing or not biggrin

Yeah of course, after all, you guys need someone to laugh at. Oh hang on, you've got Joseph for that nana but I'm glad I provide entertainment. Just think how boring your life would be without me ubbidea

I'm glad you don't think burning would be as fun as the anaphylaxia, however, one day we will get you out of the habit of offering deadly drinks to me! biggrin (probably when I start wearing the "Don't Feed Me Vodka" badge, or a t-shirt with the toxic/poison symbol with vodka written underneath... )

Just a quick update...

I got the crappy assignment handed in, I'm sure it's not improved enough to pass with but hey, I should find out on the 26th. I've got an unofficial diagnosis of my falling down, just need my consultant to confirm it. So now I'm just sitting... waiting... and waiting some more.... and then waiting even more.

But yay! Things are moving on and now I can start to enjoy my summer! biggrin

yeah, hugs are always good and am in need of lots at the moment. On the other hand alcohol and chocolate work well too. And hey, I've had lots of people say I can stay with them if I need some time out to get away from stuff on condition I cook/clean for them (shame that doesn't help me escape the falling down though)

I don't want to have to tell my flatmates frown

Thank you Birgit. I should really start wearing that hat again....

Ok, time to up date this a little...

Positive thing number 1
I've been hiding away from the world since christmas (yes, I know, I shouldn't let the falling down get to me so much that I won't go out) but I'm now determined to make more of an effort to go out and see people.

Positive thing number 2
The falling down may soon be fixed. Ok, well it might still take a while but at least after nearly two years they *think* they might have an idea as to what is causing it, so yeah, fun hospital trips for me.

Positive thing number 3
I have to do my second resit of the nasty evil collectivism essay soon which will give me something lovely and constructive to put my mind to (other than making jewellery) ok so that's more stressful than positive but hey...

Positive thing number 4
I think i have to have another dinner party soon, I did so much entertaining before christmas that I feel lost not doing it now.

And on a super plus note, I get to go and watch the Rugby a week on Saturday. Hmmm... who to support though, Scotland or Ireland? YAY! ubbrollsmile
