We're in for some nasty weather. We're battening down the hatches for the night. While I love thunderstorms, I don't like them when they get really bad, and this one has potential to be really bad.

SF...going to snuggle with Mand

soapbox

I know I've said this many times before, but it is still an issue I can't seem to get away from....yup you guessed it...

Gum smacking. Now, I don't care if people chew gum, but I have an issue with people who don't know how to friggin chew with their mouths closed, censored

My coworker chews gum DAILY, and is close enough for me to hear every smack, suck , pop, etc., and it is GROSSSSSS. I mean vile.

Now I've asked him to stop, told him that it's like fingernails on a chalk board for me, so he knows it bugs me, but he still does it. In fact, another coworker teases me because it bugs me so much...and that does a lot for my mood, let me tell you,

This guy really gets on my nerves, and there's not a lot else I can do.

I hate cubicles...really...because they don't block noise, or anything.

*sigh*

Sometime in January, we're moving to a new building, so at least I can try and sit well away from him, then.

The man is almost old enough to be my father and has the need to blow bubbles EVERY OTHER minute he's chewing gum/

Now...I'm listening to music right now, and I can hear him OVER THE Music. That's how annoying he is.

GGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Well last night was exciting, in the "You need an adrenaline rush" kind of way.

Mand and I were minding our own business, lying on the couch, watching TV after eating a fabulous meal (Mand cooks one amazing lasagna) when we heard barking.

We didn't think too much of it to begin with, but then, something in the barking tone changed, and I knew something was wrong.

I ran outside to see my roommate's cat cornered by three dogs, one of whom grabbed her with its teeth, and shook her just as I came outside.

I yelled, yelled some more and ran towards the dogs, ready to kick if need be, but they took off, and poor Mary crawled under my neighbor's jeep.

Once my roommate got home, she took her to the vet. It's a wait and see game right now, as she may need surgery.

I'm a dog lover, but I don't like stray dogs who form packs.

Mand and I saw the trio a bit later, and were concerned for one of our neighbor's cats, who's an outdoor critter. The dogs, though, stayed on the other end of the street, and took off.

The adrenaline rush brought on the headache that I'd been ignoring much of the day, and I crashed pretty hard when I got to bed. I hope ms Mary will be ok, and that she didn't sustain too much internal damage.

No, I haven't. We need to, I'm sure. Who ever owns those dogs should be the ones responsible for Mary's vet bills.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed though.

The other cats aren't happy- Storm looks confused, and followed Kim everywhere this morning. Kitty just sat in the hall and cried all night. frown

Storms been wanting people attention lately it seems. When I got to your place Saturday night, she was laying on the futon. She let me pet her for many minutes before I'd had enough and decided I was ready to crash. I actually had a hard time getting her to move so I could get under the covers. That's not normal behavior at all for her. If I can pet her, it's usually only for a few strokes before she flees.
