I got bored so I decided to change this again.

Name: Elanna (remember, folks, "Ela" is spelled with one 'L' not two).

Age: Himitsu da.

Location: Central Jersey, or Newark, DE.

Hobbies: Spinning, music, chainmail, slackline walking, martial arts/weapons, anime, video games, reading, skating/dancing, sleeping...

Spinning for: A few years, but nothing to show for it.

Favorite toys: Staff, fans, poi, eating torches, slackline, a nice piano, my NES

Books: I love to read, so there are few books I've read that I dislike. I prefer fantasy novels, though.

Movies: Anything by Mel Brooks, The Last Unicorn, The Princess Bride, any of the Monty Python films, Pirates of the Caribbean, LOTR, The Princess and the Goblin, the old Disney movies, the list goes on and on...

Favorite color: Blue.

Favorite websites: HoP, of course.

I believe that's it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Right, so I went up to NH for a few days (and was internetless which caused no end of HoP withdrawl... biggrin) and on the drive up I dozed off for a bit and when I woke up, the sun had gone down and the stars were out and I looked out my window and it was incredible! I'd never seen so many stars in my life! I always thought I had a pretty good view of the sky from my home, but there were thousands of stars I'd never seen before because of the light pollution and humidity and stuff... I've been up north a few times, but this was the first I'd ever really noticed how many stars are up there. It was amazing! I spent the rest of the drive up to the house (about 3 hours... ^_^;;) staring up at the sky. The stars I could see back home were at least twice as bright, as was the moon. It was the most beautiful thing I've seen in a long time...
Those of you who can enjoy seeing the thousands of stars I can't see back at home, I shall envy you to no end...

i have come to pollute the thought stream of your thread, don't be alarmed, but prepared.

there is mad light pollution in paris, its quite unnerving. stars are a natural right, we should see them and think of ancestors and mythical figures. instead i see the orange gleam of high pressure sodium streetlights, nasty.

the best sky i ever saw was getting stoned and drinking tea with bedouins in the sinai desert.

that flight that crashed in france coming back from egypt, funny but i was on the same one, same time last year. scaaaaaaaaary

btw yannicus, i didnt realise that people are still being stoned in the middle east. did it hurt? it must have been bad if you were seeing stars.

Gnor -- Have fun star-gazing! It really does help with the HoP withdrawl...doesn't completely make it go away, but it still does darn good job! biggrin

Patrick -- Yes, it was me...I'm sorry...I couldn't help myself...It's just that all the brown and occasional green is making me so sad! I couldn't resist wishing for some white...Sorry... *Hangs her head in shame*

Yanni -- You're quite right! We should be able to see our stars! And you're also right in that looking up at the sky in a major city is unnerving...I've been to quite a few cities, Paris included, and all I ever see is lights... It's rather sad... frown

Dentrassi -- ubblol
