Gidg, have you tried the new French Vanilla Hot Chocolate!

Pretty darn good, if I do say so myself!

Really good with whipped cream on top!!!

Nestle makes it! (The cocoa...not the whipped cream)

I've had their French Vanilla and Raspberry and Mint and the double chocolate one that I don't remember the name of. In fact I need to go buy some on my next shopping trip. It's time to get the hot drinks in the house again.

Actually a hot buttered rum sounds goo now, but for a couple of things. I don't have anything in the house to make it and I don't drink any more. Oh maybe a glass of wine now and then, but to most people that doesn't even count.

It can be made without the Rum which I do a lot for a family outing that I put on every summer and it goes over very well.

Gidg, what type of wine do you like? Ever tried Ice Wine?? Expensive, but well worth it if you like the sweet wines and not the dry. I do not care for dry wines (most whites of course), but do favor the sweeter ones. We have several excellent wineries here in Michigan that make excellent wines. One makes a Late Harvest White that I just love and it is not to bad a price; around $15.00 a bottle. They also put out an ice wine that I have had, but it costs around $75.00 a bottle (and of course I just love it) biggrin rolleyes

Yes, you are into spring and we are into fall. Our seasons are reversed as I rediscovered when researching for our trip. ?? What is considered the "off season" there?? Winter or summer?? Months of the year I guess are important to know also??

You are so right though, it is a wonderful accompaniment at winter time. Mix all of the ingredients except the rum into a big pot and then bring it to a boil over an open campfire. Add the rum and then bring to another boil rapidly, removed from the fire and serve hot (just don't burn your mouth on it) wink wink

HaHaHa, I like that one Pat, but it does make sense!! OK, when do you notice the most tourists around the area and the hotels are the busiest and full and when are they the least busy?? Any clues would help me out. I can always check the "Tourist Bureaus", but you know how they are and besides, I can't pick on you that way! ubblol ubblol ubblol

again... I'm of very little use to you jt... cos:

1) I try to avoid anywhere that might be populated by tourists
2) I don't go into the city (I do occasionally go through it)
3) I don't notice much anyway

ubblol Hot buttered Pogo and Argentine Tango? This thread is so random ... eek ... This is MY thread! ... *giggle*

JT, I like the sweet wines but I'm not into expensive wines, just because I find that I have other things to spend my money on besides something that I might drink a glass of once a month. I've heard of the ice wine, I think it would be great to give it a try. I've had several friends say that I should try it since I like the sweet stuff.
