I couldn't be arsed to get a santa uniform the last 2 years and missed it, then was really gutted afterwards. This year I'm gonna make a special effort. Come join in the fun! EDITED_BY: flid (1102587512)

Here we go, again. Ho, ho, ho, again!
Dear Santa London Santacon 2003 is happening from around 1pm on Saturday 13 December. The location of the meeting point will be revealed by email on Wednesday 10 December, so look out for that.
As usual the wearing of a Santa outfit is the only rule. This applies equally to all Santas even if they are members of the press and have a press card and a notebook and everything. We don’t want to be trailing a load of people with cameras and Dictaphones who don’t want to become part of the collective Santa mind. Outfits are available at Woolworth’s [who last year had some fine lady Santa outfits], fancy dress shops and Pound shops. You can even make your own or improvise with a red parka and jogging bottoms if you want. Please note that ‘hats only’ Santas will be ridiculed, pointed at and pelted with coal before being ejected from the collective Santa-ness. The same applies to any media not dressed as Santa.
Please bring friends. The more Santas the merrier. Last year [ see https://www.santacon.co.uk ] we had 60-odd Santas, which was a great number in terms of being able to move around and fill a pub, though there should be more this year. Many of those who came last year claimed that it was the social highlight of their year and seem to want to pass on the Santa love. We will visit various sites and hostelries in the centre of town and there will be a some bar-based fun in the evening, as well as the odd surprise drop in visit.
Pass this mail on to your friends, you know, the ones who will get it. Not those idiots. They can also sign up by emailing santacon@hotmail.com
Due to poplar demand and many of you having emailed Santa to express a dislike of Flashmobs I should point out that this is NOT a flashmob or in any way related to flashmobs or anything like that. For a start it is measured in hours rather than minutues, though you can of course leave when you want. Though those who left after just 6 hours last time missed an hour of free cocktails at a West End hotel. Santacon is not a protest, nor it is a charity event, it is not anti-consumerist it is just fun. It is a celebration of dressing as Santa and being part of a Santa hive mind.
This is the 3rd UK Santacon, as imported by Cacophonists from the US in 2001. They started there much earlier. See https://www.santarchy.com for details and history. This year sees Santacon spread further across the globe, this time to Japan.
Things to bring: wrapped up gifts/coal to give out to kids/adults, stickers or home-made badges that read ‘naughty’ and ‘nice’, reindeer, a hip flask, party blowers, kazoos, deely-boppers, lino for breakdancing Santas, a cheery disposition, boomboxes with a loop tape of Stop the Cavalry, stupid wigs, good walking shoes, a well-lined stomach, a well-padded stomach, party poppers. You probably won’t want to bring children and elves are banned.

Posted: it's ok guys, i know how excited you are but don't want anyone to know. Just PM me ok? I got a letter from santa today (pasted below), and decided to model my suit.

Are you excited yet, Santas? We are.
Just over one week from now, on Saturday December 13, the third UK Santacon will be meeting at 1pm at our secret London location, which will be released by email next Wednesday. Those who are not signed up to receive details yet can do so by emailing santacon@hotmail.com
Numbers are looking good and we have been researching a rough route and also spying plenty of bargain Santa suits for sale from the stallholders in Berwick St Market, Chapel St Market and traders on Oxford St. The shop at the junction of Great Castle St and Gt Portland St W1 have suits for a fiver. Remember, you have to wear a Santa suit to come along, even if you are a member of the press. Sorry, no hats only Santas or unsuited observers. And it’s not a flashmob, so don’t come expecting one. The organisers have nothing to do with Flashmobs and vice versa.
There is to be entertainment in the evening for all Santas. This will be in a Santa-friendly venue in the centre of town, will be free and will include comedy and music. More on that in next Wednesday’s email.
We have now set up a Yahoo group for Santas to discuss Santa couture, what deely bopper are in vogue and find out if that Santa you snogged last year is coming again. And even what sex they were. This will also be open post Santcaon for you to post pics, lost hat appeals etc. This will be for London Santacon types and also allow for postings by our Welsh Santa brethren.
You can sign up by emailing uksantacon-subscribe@yahoogroups.com or just visit https://groups.yahoo.com/group/uksantacon/ to sign up. This is the official group of the UK Santacon organisers.
Also in the world of groups is the international cabal of Santacon veterans set up by Badass Santa at https://santarchy.tribe.net
The UK Santacon website is at http;//www.santacon.co.uk and the worldwide network is at https://www.santarchy.com
Here is a list of all the other Santacons happening around the world. We have just had news in of Barcelona Santacon, which takes place on 12th AND 13th , see www.warriorgirl.com/santacon.html

Posted: well guys, you missed an absolute blinder! I was accompanied by Santa SirSheep, Santa Jez and 179 other non HoP Santas for the day around the Tate, the Southbank, Trafalger Square, Leicester Square, Soho, Mayfair, Oxford Street, Covent Garden and Holborn. There was much drinking, singing, art appreciation, sex shops and Hare Krishna dancing fun to be had. Not to mention pelting journalists who weren't in Santa suits with Brussel Sprouts. I took loads of pictures, and they are available here:
we topped out at about 300 and took over subways, bars, swank clubs (who let us in for free and then we took over the dance floor) and spewed throughout the streets.
Most of the photos are at www.santacon.com.
SO MUCH FUN! I'm DEFINITELY in for life.
Well, shall we go? Yes, let's go. [They do not move.]

too bad most people around here are too boring to partake in such an event
Posted: Yo Flidy. Maybe you wanna update the date in the title so others can find it. And maybe change it to London/New York City, December 11th 2004 to cleanse my karma?

The meet point and details have been released this year for London, email santacon@hotmail.com and ask for them if you're interested

Maybe i should judge after the santacon.. see who was the nicest to me there
Posted: Ha! I thought I was too sick to Santacon (and being productive)....
So Santacon came to me! YAY! I came home from a litte shopping and found Santacon ON MY BLOCK! So I took some weary Santas upstairs to pee and rest on my couch. Filled them up on tea, put on my suit, and partied for an hour or two on my block... and then bid them farewell to come home and rest.
I think every roving party should come to my block. It's very convenient.
How was London?

Everyone would be looking at all the santas taking their eyes off of you. The best description anyone could give of you is: Someone in a santa suit... I think there were 231 of them or something... good luck finding the culprit. You could make people lose sight of you jusst by ducking down and popping up somewhere else.
Compared to last year, not as good, but still an excellent day out in it's own right. Most memerable bits for this Santa is Westminster ("What are you protesting against?") and getting told in the Royal Festival Hall that people like me spoil Christmas for small children!

Ah well, here's to next year
