Does anyone else find that watching someone of the opposite sex twirling poi (very well) and dancing incredibly erotic?

Being male i can confirm that even my friends who don't spin usually have a open jaw when a female spins!

But, i've found that most of my female friends find watching a man twirl a staff more erotic! (so natually i have just started to learn staff)

Any thoughts (apart from that)

i think i start instructing in feb now- way earlier than expected. i need to work as much as i can, as i REALLY don't have any money.
But i will come and visit when i can.
9th-11th Jan? I think thats when the boat show is on in London. If i can get enough cash together i could maybe come with a mate to the boat show and then to yours for the weekend? I'll see nearer the time.
Will definitely see you before i go to France again though.

WHO? WHO???

The Flaming Phallus! HA!

Wow, I can't decide if Jennifer Steele is "disgracing" or disrespecting the art or not. I guess it just depends on everyone's separate views on porn in the first place.

Hm good question.

Personally I think I think poi is above sex. Watching somebody loving what they do is incredibly beautiful, regardless of if its poi or skateboarding or simply reading a book.

However, I have to add that I feel beautiful when I spinn. Sexy I wouldnt say, but I do feel better about myself when I do that compared to many other things. It is something I master, something my body is useful for.

Thoughts on this?

Mind that grammar!!!

I agree whoeheartedly... I LOVE people who love what they do, especially when you can see the passion / excitement / enthusiasm for it in their face and body. It is such a turn-on!
(as is Joe doing fire staff - agreeing with you there Mand.. heh heh)

Hooray! I get to sacrifice my pride (along with most of my body hair) in posting flaming porn videos on the net, all the while wearing some ludicrous stick-on porn 'tache. As Elliot Smith said, "wouldn't mama be proud?" May have to look into getting hold of a flame-resistant porn 'tache - gotta be a niche market. ubbidea Will look on EBay.

Ho hum. At least you'll be in it as well, El, which is good in more ways than one. wink

Back to the main subject of this thread - do people look sexy when they spin? The first moment I realised just how much I fancied Eleanor was watching her have her first burn - the way her face lit up as the fire caught. And no I don't mean that she set fire to herself...

firespinning shoud be egoless
but hey we are all still human.
i think that this is a good way to deal with my ego(i need a lot of attention)
so why not do it in a constructif cool entertaining way.
and you quickly come of it if you hit yourself in the head.
(if that happens here is a tip for all you egotrippers just moan for a minute and then start again. people think that that is very brave)

and i agree also that it is a major chick/magnet if you spin fire
this is very natural.this you must know. that is what all male-animals doo.
show of with wath they got and then the females choose who they will pick
ITS INSTINCT
and in this modern world it works the other way around too ofcourse

sex and swinnign. for all you people who have been too samuthraki.
you definitly know that this is the truth.
a lot of sexy babes swinging(who are normally not my type. i am not so found of the ideal/female/oppresed/by/advertismend.type of girl. but damn when they spin fire ......... boooiiinngg
and also
ithink i fell in love with a guy (who was spinnig very cool) for the first time.

Think for yourself Question authority

Why?

It's an expression, an artform, it's got to derive from something. It's always going to attract attention. Spinning without some form of ego is as boring as any other performing without some kind of ego. Think about acting, or professional musicians.

Of course it is. I'm a community musician and i play around places (although sometimes on a stage, but not normally). When you're playing some amazing music you get so in to it you forget there's anyone else even there. For that time, nothing matters except the music and you don't notice if there's an audience or not.

On the other hand, if you're playing something you know pretty well, sometimes you just end up thinking about what shopping you've got to do or something. Sure some musicians are about ego, but some aren't too! tongue

Peace. XxX

But in order to start playing in public you have to have enough confidence and enough of an ego. I do agree that you can lose yourself in the music, but that's the same as losing yourself in any kind of performance.

I still think you're wrong, sorry.
