Heylo there, welcome to my introduction.

I am Chuff but i ocasionally respond to my actual name which is Pete.

Managed my first Poi trick a couple of months ago, having given up hope that i ever would, suddenly it clicked in to place!! Ever since that i have been pretty much hooked! Thanks to the lovely "Anna-pananna" for introducing me to this wonderful world!!

So a little bit about moi....(and yeh i did look at other peoples to help decide what to tell you all)

Name: Chuff
Sex: Bloke
Age: 18
Location: Between Oxford and Swindon at the moment, hopfully going to Leicester uni in september!
General interests: Music (in many forms, tho loving the Ska/rock/punky/dancy/drum and base genres! Go to quite a few gigs and hopefully four or five festivals this summer (P&P fest in Edinburgh, Truck Festival near Oxford, Edinburgh Festival (love the fringe!), Secret Garden Party and Reading festival!) summer will be sooo ace! Loving the Poi of course and would like to have a go at staff! Oh and childrens cartoons from 'yesteryear' (also known in this case as my childhood). For example i just ordered a Poi-Spinning book and to get free delivery i just had to order 'Defenders of the Earth' too!! Love it!
Books: Epic-fantasy and magic type stuff, pretty much a childrens book reader. So Harry Potter, Garth Nix, Louise Cooper, Cate Tiernan.
Music: At the mo i am listening to alot of.......The Postal Service, Remy Zero, Nervous Testpilot, Bloc Party, Jimmy Eat World, Capdown, Rx Bandits, aaaand Skankt.
Films: Super Troopers (funny as!) Cyborg Cop (such a cheap funnily lame movie) the Wedding Singer, the Matrix (part1), and i watched Star Wars return of the jedi the other night. didnt realise how much i loved it till then!
TV 24, Desperate Housewives, and love stuff like Buffy, Angel, Charmed, Dark Angel, and Martial Law.

So yeh, thats me.

Oh an explanation for my nickname, simply that i smile lots and therefore seem 'Chuffed' biggrin quite alot of the time!

Cheers

Chuff cool

I have had a go on a staff, and its pretty wicked, but as i dont really know what i'm doing i can't comment on which is best, poi (i do love it!) or staff!!

I did hear about Falmouth 4, however i am at Truck festival 23-24th july which is around the same time? Therefore dunno if i can make it.

Thankee for the protective clothing, hmmm not sure if i want to be feeding something dangerous. but i did work with semi-feral cats for a little while, perhaps the skills i picked up there in preventing damage to myself will help when feeding the noddy?
or perhaps im just babbling now!?

Anyone got any tips of revising for an exam without actually having to look at the copious amounts of notes that have built up over the past year?

I'm thinking poi-spinning mite help, whatcha reckon?

I recorded all my lectures this semester so when it came time to revise I could listen to them again, so I did spin poi while revising!!

I highly recommend recording the lectures if the academics are cool with it. It's really good to be able to listen to them again, especially if you're rubbish at taking notes like I am. weavesmiley

such a good plan, will try and get my act together to do that! but what did you record them in...must have been hours and hours worth to keep!!

I am absolutely rubbish at the note taking....nearly finished a-levels. 2 more to go. yay!

I got a digital voice recorder that can store 8 hours worth in mp3 format. Then I had to upload it onto my computer at the end of each day.
But it was worth it.

Of course then you had to ask the lecturers if they didn't mind that you record them (just being polite) and feel like a complete nerd putting the damn thing on their desk (or sitting up the front).

But seriously best idea I have ever had in terms of making things easier come exam time.
