Hello

wavehello

hmmmmmm what to write about me as an intro.....damn its make or break time. First impressions are so vital. Oooooo the pressure.

I'm living in South Wales but originate from Essex (No I don't own White stillettos and No I'm not an Essex girl!). I don't bite, I do pinch, I love chocolate and I one day plan on learning lots of stuff I can't do yet.

Hobbies:- include juggling, balls juggleand clubs , Diablo, poi, doodling, music, hating housework (dust is natures way of showing what the burglars have stolen), making things, pulling things to bits (mainly to see how they work) , embarrassing my nieces and nephews (great fun hobbie that all aunties should take up), hugging trees and talking to bees (watch out for the squirrels......they ARE out to get you!)

Ambitions:- Never to grow up. Learn how to burn things safely ubbangel To that ends learning how to poi without stunning myself, blacking my eye or turning myself into a human torch. Learn to play more than one tune on the guitar. Rule the World. Learn to Surf. Conquer my fear of heights. Travel the world in a van with a man named Bob ("why Bob?" you ask...well why not Bob? I'm sure there are loads of nice men called Bob out there! Simons and Johns need not apply).

Boring stuff:- work in sales to pay the bills.

I don't recall meeting you, but then I have a sievehead and sometimes forget my own name, let alone forget who I've met. I did spend most of the weekend hooping and napping in the sunshine at the top of the field.

ubblol Skully you are so silly. Of course I'll get there and there will be no need for a fund. Thank you for the thought though.

Until then I'll just read about all the great times. hug

Ah but Gidg if we have a plane ticket fund it means the money you would of spent on a ticket can be used to keep you here longer and allow you to travel about and see more of the UK biggrin More UK means more lovely HoPpers!

I'm not sure where I'll be living by then but there will be a bed for you at the Skully section of the HoP Hotel system.

Ravehead hun are you coming to Falmouth? I'll probably see you then. Worry not, you too will get annoyed by me soon. ubblol

Well that has always been the plan. There would be no way that I would travel all that distance and just stay a couple of days or a week. I want to take four weeks, just like I did in OZ. There is just soooo much to see.

In a house, on a boat or in a tent. Who cares where I sleep as long as I can get some shut eye. I just want to take the trip in the summer, during the dry season ... does the UK have a dry season? wink

Ooooh Falmouth. That's another thing that I want to make it too.

So Skully, I've admired Neons art for a while now. Why haven't I seen any of your stuff?

*giggle* sorry I couldn't help myself. I know that the average rainfall is different, depending on where you're at, but here at home we get an average of 60in (1524mm) per year.

Gidg the reason you haven't seen much of my art is because I don't do much. I'm not really all that much of an artist. I just doodle pics and occassionally paint a pic on the computer. I wouldn't know where to start with real paints/pastles/chalks/charcoal.

Asena, you'll have to ask Jon that question. I'm guessing the answer will depend on how long ago it was that he had a hobnod fix.

Rave, I think customs might be more scared if Gidg brought Christine with her ubblol

Gayle, your hotel is way better than mine. It's got you in it for a start and that lovely man of yours.

Bird spank stop fibbing to Gidg. It's boiling hot today with no sign of rain. But having said that it is kind of pot luck what the weather will do in the UK. We just carry on playing even if it is raining.

Miss C it was a pleasure meeting your young ladies. They were adorable and so well behaved. It was a joy to have them around. They can come and wiggle hoops with us any time they like!

Ah well Rave this wi when you have to use Mega bus to london or Cambridge and then catch a lift down with someone else thats going. Then it can cost as little as a £1 on the bus and you put into petrol money for the lift.

I think once Jon and Rory got a mega bus to Bath from london for 50p but I might have that wrong, ask one of them.

Rave I'm not sure of the dates without looking.... As for relying on lovely HoPpers, you know you can and that they are more than happy to help out fellow HoPpers as long as you follow a few basic rules.

1. You always offer to pay shares in petrol costs if you travel with them. (some people refuse to take money so always have a few of their fav things on hand to pay them back with, such as chocolate or beer)

2. If you stay in their homes you bring them a few food goodies and always offer to cook or wash up. Be clean and tidy, try to leave everything as you found it.

3. If you are lent something always return it in the same condition you were given it in.

4. If when camping someone feeds you, do something in return for them. This doesn't have to cost money. Something as simple as helping then to pack up camp or wash up etc are gratefully received.

These are basic simple rules. Most people follow them but there are a few that just blag and blag and never give anything back in return. These people soon get other peoples backs up and there really is no need for it. It just causes bad feelings.

I can't drive and like you find travel costs huge. I've been all over the place for HoP meets and without fail there has been someone that has either offered me a lift all or part of the way, put me up in their home, fed me etc. HoPpers are amazing people. In return for all this kindness shown to me I feed people chocolate, pay towards petrol costs and help tidy up after meets. Why do you think I'm the chocoholic Pirate Faery that dishes out chocolate to campers in the morning. It's to repay my dept to the lovely HoPpers who take such good care of me. biggrin

Actually it sounds like you and I are sharing the same type weather right now. Major hot, triple digits last week, and absolutely no rain in sight. This week is better because it's only in the high 80's (f).

i feel guilty now........sian gave me a lift to cambridge an i was basicly skint...............i did offer her the last of my green, but she declined as cambridge is a scary place stoned because of cyclists. i will see her again and repay her but in the mean time i have this guilt hang over me that i'm thought of as a blagger redface

Rave hun, don't feel guilty. Guilt is a rubbish emotion that serves no one. Just remember you have a debt and pay it off in some way. I don't necessarily mean with money. Just do something nice for her.

You have to remember that we all blag. It's what makes this community so great (IMO), we share what we have with each other. Just remember not to always be a taker, be a giver too. You already gave a huge service to this community by working at Play (long and hard if all the comments in the play thread are to be believed), so worry not, I don't think anyone thinks of you as a selfish blagger.
