Well I will be the first to admit that im new at this kinda thing. I have "played" with fire my entire life but I just exactly that play with it. Recently I have been really interested in this kinda thing more than ever. By no means do I want to try and make fire acts a living for me but I would like to be able to learn this more as something I wanna do for myself as an interest. I would like to be able to start doing shows but not as a full time thing. My big thing in my life is computers. Well its nice to meet you all.

oui me Druugi and welcome to HoP.

Little of the old ultra... spinning instead. Have you had any experience with non fire spinning yet. Might want to get your feet wet first with staff and poi of the glowy or soft variety first.

They have alot of good safety advice to read up on before you get to toasty as well.

Welcome

Well to be honest my bigger interest is with fire breathing but I have wanted to learn poi for a while now. Im very new with the poi. Im rather good with a staff though. No were near a master but I can hold my own. I have done quite a bit of reading. Im sure I will be burned sometime. I don't think its possible to never be burned while doing anything like this with fire but I want to minimize my chances as much as I can and avoid doing something stupid.

Deadkenndys1105,

If you like staff, you will love poi. They are fun and flexible, even more so than Nunchucks or sectional staves. They allow you to do spinning techniques that are not possible with a staff. There are tons of make your own poi ideas and some great ones available for purchase as well. When you step into the fire poi please remember that even for practice you should have the safety there with you.

I have been doing fire for five years now. So far nothing more then minor first degree burns. (nock on wood!, or my head, if no real wood is available) Fire can be a wonderful experience, respect it, respect yourself, respect those around you. There is a wonderfull Heat and Rythmic Surge to fire poi that you get from the very first spin.

Please do not ever take up fire breathing.

If you do decide to do so. Only do so under the training of a safe proffesional. After you read all the safety stuff here, if you are still sure that you would like to Aspirate. go here...

https://www.fyretr.com/

then only proceed with the direct supervision of a safe proffesional.

A safe proffesional will probably train you in such a way that you will not aspirate for at least one year.

Take care
MarcBS

Well I have already taken up fire breathing before even thinking about poi. To me that is my main thing but I want to learn more. My fire breathing is really not bad and I have never been burned. When i breath I practice a lot with water before trying anything. Even if im doing a very small quick ball I will practice before hand with water and if I feel like the wind is to strong or im just not feeling right I won't do it. I also discourage people not to try it. Honestly I feel very comfortable with breathing fire and try to take every precaution I can. I have done a lot of research and I know what are the risks in it. Im like to think I am more than a drunk guy on youtube doing this at a party to impress some friends.
