Rev posted 3 videos a while ago, one showing what he called inswings, the other showing what he calls insides and the third being a combination of the two which he called split threading.

In the videos these moves are done from bf/ttn but you can use parts of them in weaves to create some neat effects.

If I have access to a camera when i get home from Virginia tomorrow I'll try and post a clip because I don't think I could successfully describe them in text.

The inswing is the inner part of this move.

Split treds is its BF variation.

Just to describe the reverse BF

aka revese split thred:

Base: Buttefly 'inside reel'(wall plane)

Inaswing Buttefly

----

[left side half]

Left Poi: revese (over -> inside) -> outside

Right Poi: outside -> outsid

----

[right side half]

Right Poi: reverse (over -> inside) -> outside

Left Poi: outside -> outside

----

The inswing I see to be,

the over -> inside cross-over

motion.

(What a name Rev!)

The 'reverse' will I place to

cross-over family.

It is called split cause

extra beat you can add

(from 6B TTN cross-over)

tend to be missed.

It is also pre- for BF

inversion that I do not.

Naganootch, Well done!

GS = good S.

[Nx?] ok follow:

1] Wall plane. Still Poi, closer to each other.

2] Cross right hand over left, still still.

3] Make 'inside' backward circle, with your right hand.

4] Reverse!

1] Wall plane. Backward Buttefly.

2] Reverse right over left.

3] Reverse Backward Butterfly half!

1] Wall plane. Backward buttefly.

2] Reverse right over left. Back to buttefly.

3] Reverse left over right. Back to buttefly.

4] Revese Backward Buttefly.

1] Wall plane. Backward Buttefly.

2] Reverse right over left.

3] 3 beat Backward TTN.

4] Reverse left over right.

5] 3 beat Backward TTN.

6] Reverse Backward TTN.

*so i'm gonna edit this to clarify*

Split threads is a bad name for this, they are just talkin about adding inside beats *AND INSWINGS* to butterflies.

Take any butterfly

take any beat, normally it's 'Outside plane', ie [body][both arms][poi]

bring it inside your arms (so where i say inside your arms, rev would call it an 'Inswing') ie [lert arm][poi][right arm]

Then you also have the option of bringing the poi between your body and your arms. ie [body][poi][both arms]

mix them all together and you get what everyone is talking about here

But, not at all! Two things that make it different

from low wave or BF inside beating:

1) The inside beat comes from cros-over.

2) The cross-over goes to inside.

Usually you can, reel inside or butterfly

(that is first degree cross-over).

It wouldn't be called even inside TTN.

Because it does one TTN 'half' inside,

one TTN 'half' outside.

It can be called, Reverse TTN. Name

is GS original I think.

oh yeah,

Reverse Butterfly is also very misleading cos that's what a lot of people call spinning backwards, or outwards.

And that 'Reverse weave' thread is an old name for what i think became known as anti-spin.

And that video https://www.gsccleric.com/~clericvids/splitthreadninversions.wmv
isn't antispin, it's just mixing outside, inswing and inside:

Edit to clarify this a bit more:

the first part of the vid, spinning outwards butterfly, 4 beats:

1 = do the outside beat

2 = then inside

3 = then inswing

4 = then outside again

changes to some 3bt inverted weaves, (barrel rolls the inversion a couple times) exits on the inside before entering the second inversion.

then starts to do the forwards version of the above 4bt butterfly

1 = do the outside beat

2 = then inswing

3 = then inside

4 = then outside again

SO anyway, by 'split threading' rev means mixing up outside, inswing, inside and inverted beats.

But i still think the name is poo cos it implies split time thread the needle
