Hi to all you twirlers and HoP lovers!

I'm Malcolm's latest addition to the HoP family with my first day of work here at HoP today (Mon 16th Oct 06) and I see lots of fun ahead (as well as a huge learning curve)! I am totally new to poi so I hope I don't make too many dumb comments!

A bit about me then:

George McNeur, male, age... "enough"!

Family: wife Heather, 3 boys 12, 13, & 15.

Location - Christchurch, NZ.

working career: Electronics Engineering - 15yrs RNZAF, 6 yrs in Test/Manufacturing and 6.5 yrs network products R&D.

You can find out a teensy bit more about me/what I've done at these sites:

https://kiwisoldier.150m.com/now.htm#george

https://kiwionice.150m.com/

and my current main interest outside of work and family: https://aotearoakendo.150m.com/

So, looking forward to the journey, and meeting all you guys 'n girls.

cheers

George

marmite, promite, vegemite or nutella?

Hello wave

Welcome to the happy family biggrin

As Mr Majestik quite rightly said, we need to know your spread persuasion - or are you bispreadable (or even trispreadable?)

But the MOST important question is - Do you like the colour pink? ubbangel

Ooooohhhh, the glorious suspense out there!!! I'm tempted to leave off replying and seeing just how outrageous my rep can get without doing anything!! cool

Ok, none of the "GM" suggestions are the ones I was thinking but that doesn't make some of them wrong - "Gloriously Magnificent" actually sounds acceptable ... biggrin

Was I a pilot? I might have a photo soon which might help with this question...

But as to the more important question, my spread persuasion - I usually have berry jam mixed with peanut butter (pref crunchy), but I can eat marmite, vegemite or nutella with equal abandon. If I was really forced to pick one over the other, I think marmite would be ahead of vegemite.

forgot to say about my colour persuasion also (sorry - I'm still learning the rules)

my usual colour preference is in the blue/green/purple arena. That doesn't mean I don't like viewing a nice flouro pink on a ... (you get the idea), but the colour I would normally choose to wear for myself, is blue/green.

And I will add that my most special place to visit has so far been Antarctica (and I've been to some pretty amazing places around this world).

*aims a warm Nutella cannon at you*

You SUUUUURE? *finger turns white on the trigger*

BTW, Gnor, teenage boys are easy. You just feed them, clean up after them, feed them more, clean up after them, feed them more, clean up after them, feed them a LOT more, clean up after them, and feed them. Also watch your step because they tend to curl up on the floor in the most ingenious places, usually near heating grates. Really, teenage boys are like dogs, but they shed less and don't need to be walked.

Teenage girls, on the other hand...well...they're hard. Mind games and stuff. And they have uteruses. And that's scary.

Sorry Doc - yep! Nutella has it's places - like inside chocolate (yum!) but on toast it's not the top of the food chain (pardon the pun).

On the subject of food and religious wars though, I can elaborate further on my persuasions - I am a card-carrying member of the anti-celery league and a pro-beetroot-in-burgers member. Not sure if that helps entice any further bombardments, but we'll find out won't we!

cheers

Gnor, Red doesn't outrank Greenies...they just play with different parts so that's why they turn all red! You know as well as I, us Greenies can't be outranked 'cause that would imply that we pay attention enough to pull rank.
biggrin

Doc, you're only afraid of uterusses 'cause they aren't your cuppa tea. Me, I don't like them 'cause they cause me pain! tongue

Keep dreamin' greenie! ubblol

Ha! I hadn't conciously noticed the red/green thing before - cool! Yeah, I guess I was green and then morphed into red. So, I'll have to talk to Malcolm and see what I gotta do to become a bluey or a purply ... I don't think red goes with the colour of my eyes!

ohh, and Pele - hug !!!

Hello MrGeorge!
It was fantastic to meet you all today at HOP central!
(I personally liked the bit where we shook hands, and also the bit where we talked) ubblol

Now I know what GM means, but I think I will just carry on thinking of more acronyms.
Generally Male?
Gay Meercat?
Gilstrup Moodoo?
GrrrrrrrrMmmmmm?

Anyway...um yeah. nana

Prickly - I'll be learning when I have some spare time - which the way Malcolm works me may be years away! The rest of the family is surpassing me in that department however - oldest son had someone take a photo of him twirling the rainbow LED poi on Sat night at a GuyFawkes event...

Hey UCOF - I liked that bit too! We should do that bit more often. Sorry you didn't get time this trip to go and see Lake Tekapo, Pukaki, the West Coast etc...
As for the GM bit, I think Nx's "Gremilin Monitor" is closest so far. (sometimes the real thing isn't the right thing!) but GrrrrMmmmm has a kind of ring to it doesn't it?

Hi Gnor sorry for missing your question...
well I have been womping a tree on and off and finally today got the stumpy rooty bit dug out, but what I was referring to in that thread was - yeah I guess the "large people in funny pants" option. (a-la the picture in my gallery)

Hey, I just noticed the last bit of your sig and it reminds me of that rather classic song with the chorus:
"I'm a g-nu, a g-nother g-nu,
I wish I could g-nash my teeth at you,
G-nor am I in the least like that dreadful Hartebeast,
oh g-no, g-no, g-no,
I'm a g-nu!"

you know it? You should since you're in it! biggrin
