I danced with my snake in a show on Sat night (last week) and ran into a bunch of people with (what to them is) an irrational fear of snakes.

For performance stuff in the past I have had to figure out what my irrational fears are, and defeat some of them.
I was terrified of microphones, for example. I treated them as if they would bite me.

What are your irrational fears?

does that mean i'm not allowed to bring my fireworks down for Fal4?

heights was never a serious problem, as long as there was some barrier between me and the edge... dont have it any more...
otherwise... no real irrational fears

Personally the only thing that I fear are Morris Dancers - there's something very unsettling about them.

yes... but we're working through that one, aren't we stoo? ubblol

for me 'tis invertebrates.... well largely jellyfish and leeches... but i'm not sure that's entirely irrational, one sucks your blood and the other stings, what's not scary about that?!?!? eek

Don't have an issue with spiders actually, I'm happy to play with them and let me run over me. Tickles really.

But for me, the biggie is the open ocean. I'm a fairly strong swimmer, I snorkel, scuba dive, fish etc., so I'm completely cool with the water, but just out in the open ocean (say, 10km off or more) and swimming, when you look down and know there's at least 2-3km of water under you, I get a touch nervous. It also hits me when I go night diving - you roll off the boat and land in a completely black, gravityless environment. You have to turn on your torch to figure out whether you're upside down or not, it is one of the most unsettling experiences.

I once dated a girl who was freaked out my bunnies...I am weary of dogs, coz one almost bit my eye out when i was a wee pup of 2 years~but i have owned dogs and ill pet them once i get to know them a lil better.
Actually my dad told me that after the dog bite incident, we went to a wedding and there was a big dog,i went up to it and hugged it and i still had stiches in my eye.So i think i concoured most of that fear.

Morris dancers are not scary! ubblol
Even if they did have some kinda sinister purpose, you'd always know they were coming with all those jingly bells! excl
Santa Claus is sooo scarier than morris dancers, but even he would have a hard time sneaking up behind you on a dark night. Still... eek

but anyway, ive allways thought that there should be a name for someone who is freaked out by blow up santas, there has to be someone! i dont, but i can see how you could be scared by them....

nah... they're not scary at all, trust me i am the offspring of one of them, which means i have largely spent my entire life in and out of pubs (their natural habitats), and on coaches (small enclosed spaces) with them, i have also encountered a fair few different species.... and i've turned out perfickly normal ubbloco

Has anyone ever had that feeling where you just have to run away from a room in your house?

Like you sense something and it frightens you that you run away to another room?

I hope it's not just me. It's like a evil presence...you jsut sense something and it makes you feel yucky and tingly and you have to run away from it?

I had that in one of my friends houses'.

Found out later a guy had hung himself in the room I had problems going in.

I used to walk into the room and get the uncontrollable urge to cry...so I used to avoid that room.

That's weird. Maybe my house is haunted...but it's always different rooms at night time when you're a bit more on edge.

I know that it doesn't just happen to me because my friend was talking about it the other day.
