Post #222 - time for an updated introduction:

Name: PoiBoxII
Birthday: 20.4.1978
Citizenship: German
Currently: Travelling
Religion: Born Protestant

Books:
Very important but often underestimated. Dont try to look for the best book, read bad ones too so you can appreciate good ones more. Read more than one book about topics that interest you.
And dont believe everything that is written...
Recommendations:
Momo,
Holy Bible,
Holy Quran,
Tao Te Ching,
History,
The Book of Secrets,
Dianetics,
Jonathan Livingston Seagull,
Illusions,
Mickey Mouse,
The Gift: Poems by Hafiz the Great Sufi Master

Films:
Influential Media - used and misused a lot. Try to watch different news channels (from different countries if available) or watch a movie two times in a row
Especially dont believe everything you see....
Recommendations:
Baraka,
Koyaanisqatsi&Powaqqatsi,
Like Water for Choclate,
Tron,
Spring Summer Fall Winter and Spring,
Irreversible (The only movie where I would advice to read about it first- Example)

Favourite city: ubbangel Krung Thep - the one and only ubbangel
Favourite place: The rooftop
Favourite colour: Not pink

Love? My Family!

Special thanks to:
Alex my teacher
PK & Glass for being my first inspiration
Jenny, Janis, Nils, Jo, Oud, Deaw, Puppy, Banks, Pat, Meao, Benny, Thomasz, Daniele and Christina for being my family in Thailand.
And all the others I have had the honour to meet, spin with, talk to, dance with, watch their videos, sleep on their couches . . . (too long to list and I would only upset someone by forgetting a name wink )

Any questions?!?

hug

andy

PS: I dont claim to have read any of the books nor have I seen all of the movies more than 10 times wink

Bad news - my moral teacher does not allow flirting with other girls, but partying is Ok as long as I am in bed before midnight. Alone ! (unfortunately)

Glad to hear that you two will go play together.
That should be a good one.
Yea arashi, but I think at 1 hour we did too much spinning. smile and you really better practice, cos that andy is real clean with poi.
and andy you better practice because that arashi can really shake his booty smile
(Andy could you choose a ood moment to rub arashi's tummy for me when you meet him. )

i am rubbish at arm wrestling and as such, flatly refuse the challenge.

as a substitute to decide, in place of the brutal act that is arm wrestling i propose...

full-scale thumb war!

best of 17 battles over a 6 day campaign is the only fair way to decide...

first battle - "battle of battersea".

which means you have to come to london first.

and to make things easier, if you make the thumb battle coincicide with andy's visit, all this faux-violence suddenly becomes unnecessary...

*re-reads the nonsense he just wrote*

sorry, its friday afternoon isn't it.

time for me to be not at work methinks.

but with 83 minutes till hometime i may just be destined to go completely mad first... umm

ohhh, I know Cole. You'll just have to come to Austin at the end of May also then you can get this whole meeting people over with and maybe I can get a dose of the Brit sense of humor. biggrin Although, if Vanize doesn't like it much, I doubt i'll ever be able to figure it out.

what's wrong with that Firepoise?

I just meant he's better at figuring out british phrases and likes their humor overall a whole lot better than I do (i'm referring to british tv shows and movies like monty python). If he has trouble on occassion, I know I'm doomed since he usually "gets" things better than I do.

humour through substitution is the best and easiest kind around.

the contributors to big train were masters of it
they substituted things like livestock with the new romantics.
they also did a nature documentary sketch in the serengeti with the caribou replaced by a herd of jockeys and the lion replaced by the artist formerly known as prince.

that last one made me fall off my seat the first time i saw it.

I will provide food and accomodation and suchlike biggrin ... alternatively, I'll see you in Bangkok ubblol

PS: (and just a little bit off topic biggrin) Cole, Big Train was comedy genius... but did you ever see the comedy of Armando Iannucci?

He wrote the Alan Partridge stuff... but did his own short comedy series which was utterly fabulous... very dry and understated. Speaking of which, am going to see a kindof Bill Hicks comedy night on Tuesday, should be good biggrin

Take care all xx

I don't know if you have found a ride from the austin airport out to Flipside yet or not, but just in case you haven't and one of us can't take you, you can hopefully find a ride on the ride share forum which has just been made live
