Post #222 - time for an updated introduction:

Name: PoiBoxII
Birthday: 20.4.1978
Citizenship: German
Currently: Travelling
Religion: Born Protestant

Books:
Very important but often underestimated. Dont try to look for the best book, read bad ones too so you can appreciate good ones more. Read more than one book about topics that interest you.
And dont believe everything that is written...
Recommendations:
Momo,
Holy Bible,
Holy Quran,
Tao Te Ching,
History,
The Book of Secrets,
Dianetics,
Jonathan Livingston Seagull,
Illusions,
Mickey Mouse,
The Gift: Poems by Hafiz the Great Sufi Master

Films:
Influential Media - used and misused a lot. Try to watch different news channels (from different countries if available) or watch a movie two times in a row
Especially dont believe everything you see....
Recommendations:
Baraka,
Koyaanisqatsi&Powaqqatsi,
Like Water for Choclate,
Tron,
Spring Summer Fall Winter and Spring,
Irreversible (The only movie where I would advice to read about it first- Example)

Favourite city: ubbangel Krung Thep - the one and only ubbangel
Favourite place: The rooftop
Favourite colour: Not pink

Love? My Family!

Special thanks to:
Alex my teacher
PK & Glass for being my first inspiration
Jenny, Janis, Nils, Jo, Oud, Deaw, Puppy, Banks, Pat, Meao, Benny, Thomasz, Daniele and Christina for being my family in Thailand.
And all the others I have had the honour to meet, spin with, talk to, dance with, watch their videos, sleep on their couches . . . (too long to list and I would only upset someone by forgetting a name wink )

Any questions?!?

hug

andy

PS: I dont claim to have read any of the books nor have I seen all of the movies more than 10 times wink

So I can take "Finally meeting PK" of my: Things to do before I can stop Poi List. Arashi would be next and then I am done. i think . . .

Vanize - will I meet you at burningman? (And please hug that little Canadian bird for me)

well, I won't make burningman...

but if you did make it to texas for the regional burn in texas (burning flipside) in late may (it being a good warm up for burningman), I may just be there with arashi waiting for you.

I may even have an extra ticket for you...

I won't be making up my mind on whether or not I go till next week though...

Hey lovely Andy,

Would love to have come to Flipside, but don't think that'll be happening anymore frown

Are you heading back to Bangkok any time soon? Might see you there... have decided to have a go at CJ for a bit of variety smile

Anyways, hope your travels are going well...

See you sometime

The quickest way to get from CA to Austin, TX is obviously by plane. Southwest airlines may have cheap tix. Otherwise, there are a bunch of people coming in from the LA area as Gigsville peeps will be having a theme camp at Flipside. Most of them fly, but there may be a few that are making the drive out. Last year, there was a Ride Share forum on www.burningflipside.com, but it doesn't appear that has materialized yet this year. I'll ask around and see if it plans on making an appearance. If so, that may be a good thing to check out as well.

Yup, it's not the link you posted, Andy. This one is in Austin, TX over memorial day weekend (May 26-30).

Sadly, tickets have been sold out since February, so finding one or two more may prove to be a tad difficult. There is a list currently for people looking, though, that you could add your name to if you like. It can be found here
