So tonight is the deadline for posting my Rank Order List for residency.
It's in. It's certified. It's final.
The programs have also entered their Rank Order Lists. They're final.
And so now the computers at the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) will start churning away. And there is nothing I or anyone else can do at this point to sway the outcome.
On 17 March I will get an envelope. Inside that envelope will be my assignment. On that day, I will be a VERY busy boy. I need to call the program, I need to start looking for apartments, I need to tell everyone I know where I'm moving, I need to find a new doctor, a new dentist, etc.
But for now, as far as the Match is concerned, there is nothing to do...
...but wait.

The funny thing is that I'm surprisingly calm about all this. Rather curious to find out, but not very anxious.
Normally, the nail-biting would start now, followed by butt-clenching, then teeth-grinding, then hair pulling. thus, by 17 March, I would be a nail-less, constipated, toothless, bald guy...
But for some reason...I just know that even if I hit the very bottom of my rank list, I'll be happy.

Good luck dude. Remeber ranking favours the natural born writers of fiction, and is a monkey process regardless.
Yes you will start work.... But finding a dentist/doctor/sensible things, hell I haven't done that yet and I've been working since Aug 04 (oops). Real life kinda slips

Well, I need a doctor because I have ADHD and ankylosing spondylitis and I need someone to write me for Enbrel and Concerta (two drugs you don't, to my knowlege, have in the UK.)

Good luck!! Maybe you're not nervous, because you know something good will come of it! Or maybe, because you already stated, you're already happy, even if you'd be at the bottom. So, it's less stress for you. Just ride it out, the envelope will come, and I guess things'll start changing!!

2) UCLA Categorical General Pediatrics Track
3) Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Montefiore (Bronx, NY)
4) Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Jacobi (Bronx, NY)
5) Children's Hospital of LA
6) Children's Hospital of Orange County
7) North Shore Long Island Jewish (Long Island, NY)
8) Harbor-UCLA (Torrance, LA area)
9) Tulane (New Orleans)
10) Rush (Chicago)
11) Emory (Atlanta)
Now, I've said that if I hit anywhere in my top 4 choices, I'll be positively ECSTATIC on Match day. And #4 has told me that they're ranking me highly. Which guarantees nothing, but there you have it.

Ok. So at this point I'm pretty sure the computers at the NRMP are done with their job. Now, it is up to the reviewers to hand-sort the results and make sure that nobody got screwed.
Which means the match is done. The result is set.
I just don't get to find out what it is... And now the impatience is setting in.

We have TNF a blockers but never herd of the ADHD one... But then I don't come accross much of that (Emergency Medicine).
As I said good luck, I trust they afford you a nice hoiliday prior to starting

So...Monday is "Black Monday," the day we get told if we didn't match anywhere. I'm expecting not to hear anything.

Is mtach day not standard at all universities? UTMB is having it's match day on Monday, the 14th. Does that mean our people that don't get matched will have a few day advantage over the people at your place that don't?

Match Day is the 17th at all med schools. However, Monday is "Black Monday," the day they tell you if you didn't match. That's also standard at all institutions.
